Opera Project 2026!!!

What an incredible way to mark the end of my time at Leeds Conservatoire! It has been an honour to be part of the world premiere of “What Makes A City?” I’ve loved creating and performing it so much!

This was maybe the hottest week of my life (as you can see in slide 5) and I am honestly amazed I actually survived it without passing out x many many many energy drinks were consumed as a cast.

I will miss everyone SO much and I’m so sad it’s all over. Massive shoutout to Emily and Enson who I’ve been singing with since first year and will never forget our countless lectures, rehearsals, mental breakdowns, last opera projects and hangouts together!!!

Thank you so much to Michael for creating such a wonderful score, Persia for being the BEST director, and for Chris for his conducting and musical direction! It is truly a full circle moment as Chris accompanied me for my audition.

Thank you to everybody who came to watch, our amazing band, and my very talented cast mates for their support this week! We were all really in this together during the heat x and it actually WAS a Saturday!!!

it’s crazy to think i only have one year left of my degree as this year has gone so quickly! looking back i’ve definitely pushed myself a lot this year and done things i didn’t think i could’ve done this time last year, and i’ve taken some tough modules that i’ve enjoyed more than expected!!! i’ve also had lots of fun learning/improving at other instruments, and i’ve loved taking part in masterclasses, side by sides, concerts and festivals! it’s also been a very challenging year for me mental health wise, but now it’s over i’m feeling a LOT more optimistic for third year! so happy to have sung so much with my incredible quartet, and i’m looking forward to doing even more fun things next year!!! here’s to another year of searching for cowboy boots during lectures ;)

all that’s left before i go home is the opera project, wait for exam results, and to keep writing songs for some v v v exciting things ive been working on :)

day in the life of a music student at the mrs sunderland music festival 16/02/2025 !!!

i had such a great experience for my first time singing in a music festival, everyone was so nice and i received some great feedback on my pieces!! i almost didn’t sing in the competition as i’ve been sick for the past few weeks but i’m so glad i decided to push through and go for it!!!

i’m also so incredibly grateful to have received second place in the french melodie class!!! i’m so proud of everyone who took part and congratulations to everyone who placed!! this was my repertoire for my classes:

solo voice: Almen Se Non Poss’io: Bellini

french melodie- Les Berceaux: Faure

german lieder- Frühlingsglaube: Schubert

i didnt manage to record that much throughout the day as it was so busy but i enjoyed making this so maybe you’ll see more videos like this in the future (im trying so hard to be in my active era)
