The Monadnock region sparkles in summer. So many legendary artists and writers through history have found enchantment with it. Willa Cather found inspiration here. Beginning in 1917, she returned year after year, for creative refuge in the shadow of Mount Monadnock - my mountain. She loved this place so deeply that, when she died in 1947, she chose to be buried in the next town over from me, Jaffrey Center - at the foot of the mountain. Years later, her life partner, Edith Lewis, was laid beside her. I think it’s time for another climb. #willacather #mountmonadnock by @lainabarakat

The Maddalena Archipelago in Sardegna is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been. That water 💦 NO FILTER🤯 We are already dreaming (and scheming) of going back.

Our engagement.
We rented a boat and island hopped all day. In the truest understanding of my mermaid soul, he found the perfect cove for us to hunt for treasure. Little did I know, he already had it in his hand.

But backing up.
It all started with three pizzas.

On the night we met, I showed him pictures of three pizzas I had eaten in Portland, Oregon on my birthday some years back during a solo trip (that hallowed day had also included 10 miles of walking and three donut shops, but I digress). As he listened to my pizza lore, sitting closely to peer over my phone, he couldn’t help but kiss me.

On the night of our engagement, instead of a fancy restaurant downtown, we opted to stay local and embark on a game of rummy three pizzas.

I can’t wait to eat pizza and play cards with you for the rest of time, Kip♥️
