🏆NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD! 🏆

Winners of the @gbrowchallenge 2024

After rowing an incredible 2000 nautical miles from Tower Bridge London, the mixed team of six made it back to Tower Bridge on Sunday 28th June. They completed their journey in 49 days, 1 hour and 29 minutes making them not only the winners of the 2024 GB row challenge but setting a new guiness world record for being the first & fastest mixed team of 6 to circumnavigate GB from Tower Bridge to Tower Bridge 🏁

A huge crowd, including friends and family, gathered on Tower Bridge to witness Lia, Joe, Adam, Patrick, Hannah and Daisy light up their flares as they crossed under the bridge, marketing the official finish of their epic journey that tested their physical and mental limits.

The sun was shining and the Thames was the perfect backdrop for the team as they finished their expedition in st Katherine’s dock.

There is still time to sponsor the team and support them in raising funds for their chosen charity @surfersagainstsewage 🏄‍♀️🌊💩 justgiving link can be found in their bio.

Tuesday 11th August

Day 345 - Vimioso, Portugal to Tordesillas, Spain 🇪🇸

Distance: 156 km
Elevation: 1,213 m

Notes:
- T-minus 1 night until the lunar eclipse
- No one on reception this morning or last night so a cheeky free campsite for us
- Went straight to find coffee & somehow managed to get a cup of hot milk… not ideal
- Headed out into the blistering heat
- Stopping to get hosed down by the field sprayers as and when we could
- Hit Spain late morning & straight into a climb
- Lost an hour…
- X2 cokes EACH and some Spanish tapas later we were back on the road
- More field sprayers
- Finally made it to Tordesillas at 8pm
- Found some fuel & dinner before heading to the campsite which was full. So we headed out to find a wild camp spot ✨🌳🌴

We have a winner!! Congratulations to @dcworldride, our Panaracer photography competition winners! They’ve won two tickets to Rouleur Live in London.

Their winning photo was taken at Thorong La Pass, 5,416m up in the Nepalese Himalayas, during an incredible year cycling around the world.

After setting off from the Cotswolds, the pair covered over 35,000km across 29 countries, with 261,000m of climbing along the way. An unexpected delay waiting for wheel bearing spares led them to take on the Annapurna Circuit on hired bikes.

"On 3 November, we set off with hired backpacks, mountain bikes, boots and crampons, knowing we were probably taking on one of our biggest challenges yet. What followed was five days of hiking and pushing our bikes through mud, dealing with sore bums and aching backs, and carrying far more weight than we were used to.

We eventually made it to base camp and, after a quick breakfast of porridge, set off for the summit at 4am in temperatures of -14°C.

I cried when we reached the top. Partly from the sheer relief and elation of making it, but also because the mountains were just so incredibly beautiful. Everyone up there was buzzing with the same sense of achievement, and then came the next challenge: getting back down the other side, on our bikes, through the snow!

It was one of those days that reminded us why we set off in the first place. The hardest experiences often end up being the most rewarding, and the ones you remember for the rest of your life."

A brilliant photo from an even better adventure. Congratulations again to @dcworldride, and thanks for sharing your story with us! 👏

A HUGE thank you to everyone that came from as far away as Scotland for our sold out evening with @sarah_ruggins and her team at @arnolfiniarts this week.

We knew the #Bristol community would show up, but it was amazing to see how many new faces we met from further afield. A testament to Sarah’s incredible story and the legacy she and her team are building.

In this day and age of exceptional sporting achievement, it was especially nice to get behind the headline numbers and talk in more detail about mindset, preparation, logistics, community and so much more besides. There is so much more to a world record than just numbers.

Thanks to the audience for some excellent questions - and @in_the_jesky for wrangling them.

Thanks to @laisyducker for sharing her experience as part of the LEJOGLE record crew and also excellent work moderating the panel - it’s a LOT harder than it looks!

Thanks to @rmc97__ for somehow managing some levity among the deadly serious points being made about managing wellbeing.

Thanks to @hannahanniex for her insights into the challenges of capturing and sharing the whole thing in realtime, whilst under the immense pressure of life on the move.

And thanks to @rlp_coaching for some really interesting info on how you physically prepare for pushing yourself to the limits without pushing too far!

It was also amazing to see @jamesbusbyimages on the big screen! 🤩

Thanks also go to @arnolfiniarts for running such a slick and friendly operation.

If you couldn’t be there and are still suffering FOMO, don’t worry. We did manage to record it, and will share it as soon as we can. A big final thanks goes to @fergus_coyle for both the filming as well as these images, despite a very hectic schedule.

And this is just the beginning. Follow Sarah as she prepares for Project ATLAS, her 2027 round-the-world record attempt, and sign up to our newsletter for more events like this.

A little rain never hurt a good adventure…

but when you return to the UK after a whole year abroad and get this - are we surprised? ☔️😂

Not every day of the ride was spent in glorious sunshine. Although, there were definitely more hot days than cold - especially towards the end of our trip through Morocco, Portugal and Spain. ☀️

Whether it was a long day getting wet, sweaty, exhausted - or all three - we’d always look forward to something to quench our thirst after a day in the saddle.

A Radler was our drink of choice in the sun, and a cup of tea in the rain. 😂☕️

More often than not, we’d end up sat on the floor of a campsite, cooking dinner on the stove and enjoying whatever beverage we could get our hands on… if it hadn’t already been guzzled.

And yes… before anyone asks, I was always wearing my helmet 😂😂
