🎻Thank you Lake Oswego! So honored to have been awarded Best Documentary at this year’s inaugural fest, and especially that our Co-Executive Producer, Heidi Fox, could be there to accept it. 🎻 by @lakeoswegofilm

The latest award has somehow renewed my faith in what we are doing.

This journey is incredibly difficult. Sometimes you lose your sense of direction, start doubting yourself, and no longer know which way to go. But it’s precisely in moments like these that even a single award can remind you why it all began.

Behind each of these awards lies an enormous amount of hard work, faith, and people who weren’t afraid to dream alongside me.

Thank you to everyone who believes in our story. ❤️🎬

We keep moving forward!!!!! #lakeoswegofilm @lakeoswegofilm @dmitromalkov by @lakeoswegofilm

And a very special thank you to our wonderful director, Dmytro Malkov, for his vision, creativity, and passion for bringing this story to life.

This award belongs to all of us!

Thank you to everyone who believed in our story. This journey is just beginning! ❤️🎬

Thank you @lakeoswegofilm for giving Neon Blue such a warm welcome! The PCC Sylvania campus was a profoundly meaningful place to end this festival tour. 25 years ago I was a young student on that campus, expanding my mind and getting my first taste of independence and adulthood. Feeling old today but also so grateful! by @lakeoswegofilm

LAKE OSWEGO FILM FESTIVAL program
Day 3 Saturday, October 10, 2026
Film Screenings 12:00PM-2:00PM Doors Open 11:30PM

"Just Matthew" Dmytro Malkov, USA 28:35- Comedy
Matthew is a kind and gentle but at the same time, a physically strong immigrant from Ukraine. Arriving in the USA, he faces the harsh reality that he can't get a decent job without licenses, good English skills, and the necessary education. He takes a low-paying job, and in his free time, becomes a handyman through a mobile app, starting with small repair tasks.
Matthew dreams of finding place in his new community by helping people with home repairs. Each attempt to solve household repairs lead to numerous comedic situations due to his eccentricity, untamed, precarious energy and lack of repair experience. However, things always end up well in the end, because Matthew has a unique ability - an unconventional outlook. He unknowingly helps the families he visits solve their personal and family problems. By fixing a leaky faucet or a broken shelf, he unintentionally solves problems in families. Without realizing it, he brings peace and harmony to every home.
Matthew, a big and naive kid at heart, never gets discouraged and believes that by doing good for society and making the world around him a little happier, he will one day find his own happiness.
Writer/Producer: Gennadii Omelianiuk, Dmytro Malkov
Cast: Gennadii Omelianiuk "Matthew", Dmytro Malkov "Mr.Nauci"
