you come for the food. you stay because the guy making it is basically family at this point.

today’s kris’s birthday, which feels like a good time to acknowledge that he’s responsible for approximately 90% of the reasons you stay at lakeside longer than you intended.

he runs our kitchen, keeps everyone fed, and is arguably the only person in this building who knows what’s going on.

if you see him today, tell him happy birthday. if you don’t, order something. he’ll get the message.
