SISTA STRUT ATL 2026 💕

Today was a GREAT day! Sista Strut ATL 2026 hit a little different for me this year. My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer this year, so every step felt a little more personal and the purpose behind this walk meant even more.

We showed up, showed out, and most importantly, we STRUTTED for a cause! In honor of the fighters, in celebration of the survivors, and to spread awareness.

So grateful for everyone who came out and represented Team Lakin Law with me!

Happy Saturday!

I’ve been in Atlanta for a few years now, but somehow today I got to experience a few “firsts” in the city I call home.

My morning started with a walk/run around the city, Foxtail Coffee Co. (Pumpkin Spice latte me please, and a chicken Caesar salad from Zaddy’s. Then, somehow, cartwheels/ roundoffs on the lawn at Colony Square were randomly added to the list of activities. 😂

Oh, and because apparently I was committed to being a kid again today, I hopped on a scooter and rode through the city. While riding, I’m listening to my favorite radio station, 96.1 The Beat, and I hear a shoutout for The Lakin Law Firm! ♥️⚖️

Talk about a full-circle moment.

Sometimes you get so busy working, building, serving, and chasing the next goal that you forget to actually enjoy the life you’re creating.

Today reminded me to get outside, try something new, laugh at myself, move my body, enjoy my city, and appreciate the little moments along the way.

This morning was needed. Thank you @humbly__cocky!♥️

I had the opportunity to attend a special screening of “By Any Means” movie, and it was truly an experience from beginning to end. It took me through every emotion imaginable and, it’s the kind of movie that stays with you long after the credits roll.

One of my biggest takeaways was the reminder of just how powerful, and hard fought, the right to vote truly is. There was a time when people who looked like me were denied that right altogether. And even after gaining access to the ballot, barriers such as poll taxes were deliberately used to keep Black Americans from exercising that right.

History has a way of reminding us not to take for granted what others sacrificed so much for us to have!

By Any Means is more than a movie.. it’s a conversation starter, a history lesson, and a reminder. I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself.

In theaters September 4th! Go see it!

Still smiling from The Christi Show Choir Tour Experience! 😂❤️

Sometimes you have to step away from the emails, deadlines, meetings, and everything on the to-do list, even in the middle of the workweek, and simply enjoy LIFE.

The music, the laughter, the energy, the nostalgia… EVERYTHING was a whole vibe! There’s something special about being in a room where you can let your hair down, sing along, laugh out loud, and just LIVE in the moment.

Life is too serious not to make time to laugh. In a world that can feel so heavy, this was exactly the kind of midweek joy and reset I needed.

The @thechristishow brought Atlanta OUTSIDE and reminded us that while the work will always be there, so will the need to make room for joy, laughter, and a GOOD TIME!

10/10 EXPERIENCE! If the tour is coming to your city, GO!

PSA: JURY DUTY IS “GHETTO”! 😂

Okay, I’m exaggerating! However, it can definitely be an inconvenience, to say the least. You have to rearrange your work schedule, figure out childcare, sit around waiting, and potentially put your entire life on pause for days or even weeks. AND sometimes, after all of that, you may not even get selected.

But here’s the other side of it: JURY DUTY MATTERS!

For many people who walk into a courtroom, a jury represents their opportunity to be heard, to have the evidence considered fairly, and to have members of their own community decide the outcome of a case.

Our justice system cannot function the way it was designed to without people who are willing to show up and serve.

As a lawyer who relies on juries to help seek justice for my clients, THANK YOU! 🫶🏾 Thank you for rearranging your schedules, adhering to the summons, for sitting through jury selection, for listening to the evidence, and for taking the responsibility seriously.

We know it can be inconvenient. We know you probably have 100 other places you’d rather be. However, when you answer that summons, you’re not just doing jury duty. 🫵🏾 You are participating in the justice system, and somebody’s case may depend on you. ⚖️

From the press release to the Finale, I had the privilege of witnessing a part of Atlanta history!

The @atlantaculturalexchange brought the world together during the World Cup, but its vision and purpose extend far beyond that moment.

Through thought-provoking panel discussions, incredible artists, visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives generously sharing their gifts, I walked away with a renewed appreciation for the power of culture, collaboration, and community; and meaningful relationships/ new business connections.

The Atlanta Cultural Exchange didn’t just accomplish the mission, they exceeded it. You created a space where ideas were exchanged, cultures were celebrated, and lasting connections were built.

Thank you, and congratulations to the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs and everyone who made this unforgettable experience possible. Atlanta didn’t just host the world, we showed the world who we are! 🍑

The World Cup experience was EVERYTHING! ⚽️

To be part of history and experience FIFA World Cup 2026 games right here in Atlanta, GA was already special, but doing it in true VIP style made it unforgettable.

From the fellowship, to meeting amazing people from all over the world… this experience reminded me how powerful one sport can be. Different nationalities, different languages, all coming together for one shared love for the game.

A special thank you to my friend @itz_chefdna for making sure the experience was nothing short of luxury. This was truly one for the books!

Year 6!🥳

They say once you’ve made it past five years in business, you’re officially an “OG”. Not because you’ve figured everything out, but because you’ve earned wisdom and survived what would’ve made most people quit.

Every setback taught me something. Every victory humbled me.💪🏾

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, donated, and stood with us for our Inaugural Denim Day Community Awareness Event.

Denim Day is a global movement that began in response to a court ruling that wrongfully implied a victim’s clothing signaled consent. It is observed annually on the last Wednesday in April and serves as a powerful reminder that consent matters and that we stand united against sexual violence.

What we created together was more than just an event—it was a moment of unity, awareness, and intention. Your presence and support helped bring light to an issue that deserves to be seen, heard, and addressed.

Thank you for believing in this vision and for standing with survivors. This is only the beginning!
