✨Nice memories ✨
📍@lasalamandasmexico is a beautiful, colorful and so aesthetic boutique hotel right on the ocean. Only 18 suites in 8 villas hidden among palm trees, so it always feels private and peaceful.

@the_bespoke , Tulum 🌴

I really liked the atmosphere here. The interior is calm, warm and very restrained… natural tones, wood, linen and handmade details. Nothing feels excessive or distracting.

And I think that’s exactly what works here. The design doesn’t compete with the view. You can just sit on the terrace, slow down and enjoy the Caribbean Sea ✨

The complex is right on the beachfront, with a beautiful pool, so you can spend the day relaxing by the pool or go straight down to the beach.

The residences are different sizes and feel much more like private apartments than a typical hotel room so spacious, comfortable and very residential.

A few useful details:
📍 Tankah Bay, Tulum, Mexico
▫️ 22 private residences
▫️Right on the Caribbean beachfront
▫️Beautiful pool area
▫️Prices depend on the residence and dates.

For me, it’s a good example of a relaxed luxury interior, when the design is there to support the experience, not to take all the attention.

The entire Tulum beach strip is basically filled with hotels and beach clubs, each with its own style and atmosphere. So you can easily choose a different spot for a beach day every day.

This time I visited @lazebratulum

I really liked the place. Based on the reviews, people especially mention the relaxed atmosphere, good Mexican food, friendly service, and that it’s also a good option for families.

If you’re not staying at La Zebra, you can book a beach bed separately - roughly 1,400 MXN, with around 1,300 MXN going toward food and drinks. It’s best to confirm the current conditions when booking.

📍 Ven a la Luz, Tulum

When I first saw this giant sculpture on social media, I dreamed of visiting Tulum and taking a photo here. And finally, I made it!

Honestly, it’s not quite as impressive in real life as it looks on Instagram 😅 But it’s still such a beautiful and unique spot for photos.

💵 The entrance is 100 MXN (about $5 USD).

📸 I’d recommend coming in the morning or later in the afternoon, when the light is softer. There’s usually a line, so when it’s busy, you’re expected to take your photos pretty quickly and let others have their turn.

It’s actually right on the main beach road, near Ahau Tulum, and it’s surprisingly easy to miss. A good landmark is Starbucks , it’s just after it.

So you can grab a coffee ☕️, stop by Ven a Luz for some photos, and continue exploring Tulum Beach Road.

📍@sferik.art

Some of the most famous and unusual places in Tulum are the AZULIK projects.

It’s not just a hotel right on the Caribbean coast, but also a collection of restaurants, art spaces, and museums.

There are also special spaces with panoramic views that are popular for watching the sunset. For example, Mirador del Maestro is around 1,000 MXN (about $55 USD), including a cocktail. Some spaces require advance reservations and a deposit.

My friends and I chose SFER IK Museion - a museum of contemporary art and architecture surrounded by the jungle. It’s easier to get there by car or taxi.

Admission to SFER IK Tulum is around 300 MXN (about $17 USD). The ticket also gives you access to SFER IK Basin on the same day.

As an interior designer, I’m not easily impressed, but this space really stood out to me. Architecture, art, and nature almost become one here — with organic forms, natural materials, and a very unconventional approach to space.

We only had a short visit, but I could easily spend several hours here. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Tulum, and I’d love to combine the visit with the café.

📸 There are some photography restrictions: unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take photos with a professional camera, and tripods and flash are not allowed either. However, we were free to take photos and videos on our phones.

By the way, SFER IK currently has three locations: Tulum, Uh May, and Basin.

Prices are approximate at the time of writing. Make sure to check the latest prices, visiting conditions, and photography rules before your visit, as they may change.

My friends took this photo of me on my last day in Tulum. By that point, I was already sunburned, tired from all the adventures, and honestly just exhausted. I probably look a little sad here, but the truth is, I was only sad because my vacation was coming to an end.

I didn’t expect a change of scenery to affect me this much.

As soon as I arrived in Tulum, I suddenly had more energy and actually wanted to get up in the morning. My sleep, appetite, and mood all got better. And I realized how tired I had been feeling over the past few years. I honestly thought I would just lie on the beach every day.

It made me realize again how important it is to find places that feel right for you.

You can live somewhere with good opportunities and make good money, but if the place doesn’t suit you, even the money doesn’t feel as rewarding.

Sometimes, in the right environment, you simply feel more like yourself. You have more energy, more motivation, and more desire to live and do things.

Sometimes it’s not you. Maybe you’re just not in the right place ✨🌴

Why did I choose Aflora Tulum for my vacation? 🌴
📍@afloratulum
After spending a lot of time researching different areas and comparing places to stay in Tulum, I decided on Aflora — and overall, I think it was a good choice. I booked my studio through Airbnb.

As an interior designer, I was immediately drawn to the aesthetic of the complex - modern, minimal and very Instagram-friendly. My studio was in the first, fully completed building, with a large comfortable bed, a stylish interior and a small kitchen, enough for making simple meals.

Before booking, I read a few reviews mentioning construction noise. With so much development happening around Tulum, this seems to be a pretty common issue. I’m a very light sleeper, so nighttime was my main concern. Luckily, it was usually quiet after 10 PM, and the daytime noise was pretty moderate during my stay.

One thing to keep in mind: the café at Aflora often hosts events, so some evenings can get pretty lively. If you’re looking for a completely quiet and private getaway, this might not be the best place for you.

One design detail I really liked was the window in the shower. It’s partly covered by plants, but being on the second floor and facing the café, I still felt like it could use a little more privacy 😅

Another thing I’d change is the pool access. I’d prefer it to be for residents and guests only. Café visitors sometimes use the pool too, which can make it harder to find an available sunbed.

I rented a scooter to get around Tulum, and getting to the beach was quick and easy. You can walk, but I’d recommend having at least a bike. Taxis can get pretty expensive if you use them regularly.

Bonus: Aflora partners with beach clubs, so you can book beach beds through the complex.

So overall, I’d recommend Aflora more for solo travelers, couples, or groups of friends.

🌿 The Butchart Gardens, Victoria 🇨🇦

On our first trip to Victoria, we decided to start the day with a morning visit to the famous Butchart Gardens.

A little bit of history: the gardens started in the early 1900s, when the Butchart family moved to Vancouver Island to build a cement factory. When the limestone quarry was no longer being used, Jennie Butchart decided to turn it into a beautiful garden. This is how the famous Sunken Garden was created. Later, the Japanese Garden, Italian Garden and Rose Garden were added.

The entrance is quite expensive for a botanical garden — around $45 CAD per adult when we visited. But I think it’s definitely worth visiting at least once.

The gardens are large and beautifully maintained, with lots of great spots for walking and taking photos. Each area has a different atmosphere, and there are also small cafés, restaurants and shops inside.

I would recommend giving yourself at least a few hours to explore. A really nice way to start your first visit to Victoria and Vancouver Island. 🌿 taken in Butchart Gardens by @lalinalife

Summer is definitely ice cream season. 🍦☀️
There are so many ice cream spots around BC, but these three are the ones I always remember because of their unique flavors.

@hundopsmoothie (in 📍Whistler) — my favorite vegan ice cream. If you’re visiting Whistler, don’t miss it. I could honestly eat it every day.

@matchacafemaikocanada ( in 📍Richmond) — this is the place that made me fall in love with matcha ice cream.

@sweetsurrendergelato (in 📍Steveston, Richmond) - I really wish I had tried it sooner. Their strawberry & rose sorbet instantly became one of my favorite summer flavors.

If you know any places with unique or unusual ice cream flavors, I’d love to hear your recommendations! Always looking for new favorites 🍦✨

Vancouver is known for its rainy days, but sometimes that’s exactly what makes a getaway special.

Hidden in the forests of Britannia Beach, this beautiful home is the perfect place to slow down, escape the city, and enjoy the peaceful side of BC. Watching the rain through floor-to-ceiling windows, surrounded by mountains and ocean views, is an experience of its own.
