Here comes « THE BRIDE »
He vanished, she stayed, unbroken except for the shards of glass scattered around her and on which she walks fiercely
towards no one and nothing but herself.

About 8 years ago I went through another difficult heartbreak and decided I shall not waste any more time and made a promise to myself: to take care of my own happiness and to dedicate my energy to the one person who can truly stand up for me.

Being an incurable romantic (and a weirdo), I imagined a kind of ceremony for myself. I asked my dear, magical friend @sian_hoffman to create my dream ceremonial dress. Which she accepted without hesitation. We decided to use her iconic Eloise corset as the base and chose to work with vintage 1920’s fabrics I had collected over the years and she added pieces from her own collection. The fabric is incredibly fragile and won’t withstand time well but I loved the idea of it slowly « disintegrating », shedding, revealing a new skin.
It took us all these years to achieve it as at one point Covid hit and this became the least of our concerns. Then life, as it does, caught up with us.

We returned to it after my dear father passed away. This personal project became something I needed to transform into a performance to share, to fill the emptiness, to regain my strength.

It’s still a work in progress.
Doing this special shoot with my friend @nathanselighini helped set me back on track to work on it .
And I can’t wait to reveal the new prop currently being created by another amazing person I recently crossed paths with.
Everything aligns perfectly when you are patient, when you trust the universe and most importantly, yourself.
And let’s not forget how privileged we are to be able to do what we do with such freedom. We truly are.

🇫🇷Avant que son atelier de Montreuil ne soit détruit, @gillesperezdelavega m’a proposé de venir le photographier une dernière fois. 💔

🌙 Un soir, avec ma chère @lallamorte nous nous sommes glissées dans l’une de ses micro-caravanes : une chambre nuptiale itinérante, tapissée de velours et de miroirs.

Dans ce décor surréaliste, Lalla a trouvé sa place comme si cette caravane avait été imaginée pour elle et l’avait attendue depuis toujours. 🤍

🇬🇧 Before his Montreuil studio was set to be demolished, @gillesperezdelavega invited me to come and photograph it one last time.

🌙 One evening, with my dear @lallamorte we slipped into one of his micro-caravans : a traveling bridal chamber lined with velvet and mirrors.

In this surreal set, Lalla settled in as if the caravan had been waiting for her all along. 🤍

Un des moments marquants de mon année 2025.
L’honneur de figurer au milieu de tant de collègues et talentueux ami(e)s dans le livre « CABARETS » de ma très chère @celine.du.chene edité chez @editionsmichellafon.
Ce livre est l’aboutissement d’un incroyable travail de recherche sur l’histoire du cabaret, de ses lieux mythiques qui font rêver et les personnages qui les animaient. Un sublime objet de mémoire et de reconnaissance. Merci Céline ✨🤍✨
