This is a video I made from my visit to KSO COMMUNITY SCHOOL at K. Molnom Village, Chandel District 📍 on 27th October 2025 with Jalhai. We had to cross the Guunpi river via a wooden boat cos there’s no bridge to connect the isolated Kuki villages from other Kuki Zo areas either in Chandel or Churachandpur district. The journey that normally takes hardly 50 minutes from Lamka town to Makhao Area (Lailoiphai-Dongjang : Sugnu frontline) took us 1 and a half hour given my long hiatus from riding and also thanks to the road conditions. We bought few edibles and pencils along with us to distribute to the young learners in the school. Where the STATE fails its subjects, coping mechanisms in the educational sectors like KSO community schools functions to bridge the gap. They ensure these displaced and vulnerable students don’t lost their future amidst the chaos filled with Violence and Hostility. Celebrating our resilience, May we remain strong and rebuild much more than we have lost to #manipurviolence by @lam_gun_beck

Today marks the 108th anniversary of the Anglo Kuki War (Kuki Rising , Kuki Rebellion,1917-1919) ,
a historic resistance against British colonial rule. Led by prominent Kuki chieftains such as Pu Chengjapao
Doungel of Aisan,Pu Lhukhomang Haokip of Chassad,Pu Tintong Haokip of Laijang,and others,this uprising was a defense of our freedom and territory.
Many were imprisoned for their bravery,including Pu Khotinthang
Sitlhou,Pu Pakang Haokip,Pu Heljashon,Pu Ngulkhup,and more, who served sentences in Sadiya and Taungyi Jails.
The Kuki Rising remains a testament to the indomitable spirit of our people.Despite near starvation and brutal colonial tactics,the chiefs fought valiantly for their land and their people.Let us honor their courage as we remember this momentous chapter in our history.
We salute the sacrifices of our
forefathers,who stood against
overwhelming odds, refusing to
surzender their land,culture,and
identity.
The Anglo-Kuki War is now an Official Restricted Holiday, acknowledging our community’s struggle for freedom.
