Since I was young I’ve always believed in betting on myself.

In life we’re all faced with challenges some small, some big, some that completely change the direction of your path. And in those moments, doubt and fear show up every time.

The difference is what you do with them.
That doubt will either hold you back or propel you forward. That’s the choice.

Some people rise to the occasion. Some don’t. But what I’ve learned is that when you do bet on yourself and take action anyway you discover things about yourself you never would have found staying comfortable.

Every step you take toward your goal gets you closer to it. It sounds simple but most people never start.

Life is short. Trust yourself. Bet on you.

Nobody else is going to do it for you.

It’s been 3 years since I ran my first marathon which I will be doing again in less than two weeks @themiamimarathon and I’ve always had the goal of bringing inspiration & awareness through my runs.

This year I am dedicating my run to The Kennedy Kids Foundation for Teen Mental Health & Suicide Prevention. This cause is deeply personal to me because every step I take could help save a child’s life. Together, we can create hope, raise awareness, and make a difference for kids in need.

Please support me by donating any amount you can afford. Getting the message out and helping our youth get help is essential to their survival.

Everyday you have to make those small deposits in order to reach the greatness you want to achieve. This Detroit Marathon I envisioned running it about 8 months ago when I saw there was one here me being from Detroit this one was extra special but the training process ,the discipline, the daily deposits I made when it came down to it I knew I was more than ready for this moment.

When I was running I kept telling myself Lamar you have to tap into your inner greatness you have to keep envisioning what you want your future to be. I really believe our reality starts first with our mind how do you envision your future and your life do you need to make changes do you need to go harder? Well do it , we are only here a short time and we have to make the most of it so why not try to tap into your inner greatness inside of you. I took that away from this process now I move on to challenge myself again and get back to training this shit really don’t stop because I want to reach my greatness and everyday counts. Always love Detroit🖤🖤
