🌱 Thoughtfully grown seedlings 🌱

At Lambert Growers, a delivery of carefully sourced seed signals more than a new crop—it marks a return to what grows best here. With a new native and adaptive plant program, the spray-free greenhouse is cultivating plants shaped by Utah’s climate, grown mostly from seed, and selected with an eye toward stewardship, resilience, and beauty.

Don’t miss their reopening on March 28, 2026!!!!

2018 was the first year we used biological control to mitigate pest problems (aphids are probably the most well-known/despised). We haven't looked back since! Here's a snippet into some of my more zen moments watching these little cuties go to work. I hope you feel it too, they are just so amazing! The last one is by far the most critical. by @lambertgrowers

💥Off-season things💥

If you’re wondering what could possibly be happening when we’re not actively growing/selling, here are a few things:

-Rebuild the end walls of houses
-Receive supplies for next spring
-Big moves like this cold frame. We’re trying out some different layouts.

These are all pretty Charlie-forward (Thanks, bud!!) I’ll show you some other things next ✨ by @lambertgrowers

Last @slcfarmersmarket of the season is tomorrow! 🤯 I’ll be there with our houseplants, of course, plus so many great vendors.

There will be a pet costume contest, PLUS, some vendors will be offering trick-or-treats to kids too. Look for the signs saying they are participating. I will have the most adorable thimble-sized planters with succulent cuttings for kids. Please come stop by! by @lambertgrowers

Six acres of ag in the city is interesting anyway, and then add the combo of people’s outdoor cats, ferals and otherwise wandering cats mixing and mingling. We had an explosion of litters this spring and summer. But luckily, since we already feed the ferals, nursing moms brought their litters close to the source. We were able to monitor them and make a game plan.

Y’ALL we are very lucky to have @westvalleyanimalservices available to us and the community. We rent a humane trap from them and then bring in the cats to be neutered and returned (TNR trap, neuter, release). It’s the best option to manage feral populations. Plus, we bring in adoptable kittens…I mean come ooooon.

As of now, we are back to almost all regularly seen cats being sterilized. There is still one illusive tomcat though 🙄…

If you are also noticing cat colonies and want to help, I’m happy to share what I’ve learned. You can also contact your local animal services. If you are near West Valley and can help, I met another community member who feeds colonies on his own dime/time. He would love some help. I can get you connected if you’re interested! Always always, adopt when possible (which is basically 100% of the time). There are so many insanely incredible animals waiting to find a home.

Hopefully we can go a few years before I have another carousel loaded with cats. 🐈 Thanks @westvalleyanimalservices 🫶❤️🙌

Oh, and fix your dang cats! by @lambertgrowers

We’re still here working, it just means plants aren’t the priority anymore 💥 by @lambertgrowers

Slide 2: How I feel at the (almost) end of another season. Kind of like those ai barbies in front of structure fires 🫠

Last day of the year is THIS Saturday! 9/19/26

All remaining perennials, vegetable plants, herbs and berries (rasp, black and straw) are 50 off. We’ve also still got some soils, seeds and grasshopper control that can be stored over the winter. So, three more days for one last hurrah (at Lamberts, anyway!)

A major thank you to everyone that has already popped in this fall 🫶🫶🫶 by @lambertgrowers

We are open from this Saturday August 22-Saturday September 19, 2026 for our fall plant sale. All you need is a little space between some other plants to grow more lettuce, spinach, kale, etc! The fall is also, dare I say, the *best time to plant 😳 We will have a bunch of ground cover, perennials and low-water plants to peruse. See you soon!

Operating hours: Mon-Sat 9 AM- 6 PM
Closed Sundays and Labor Day by @lambertgrowers

NEXT SATURDAY! We open next Saturday 8/22/26 for our fall plant sale 🤯 You can find specific vegetable and seed garlic varieties on our website under the Our Plants tab.

We are currently sifting through our perennial selection to pull out the things that didn’t melt this summer (container growing can be so bizarre). So while I don’t have a neat list to offer you right now, please know we will have lots of great options during our sale. Many low-water and regionally adapted plants ☀️

Fall operating hours: Mon-Sat 9 AM- 6 PM
Closed Labor Day by @lambertgrowers

We’re packing the van for Craft Lake City this weekend! ☀️ Houseplants grown by yours truly. Zero pesticides, 100% biological control.

We’ll be near the Google STEM building, because the science of it all! The festival is located on the fairgrounds in SLC and runs from tomorrow, Friday evening, through Sunday afternoon. There will be lots to see and do and we would love to see you!
