HUMBLE BEGINNINGS - (For context purposes only) Friday Aug. 12,1983 - I lost my dad, my baby brother, & my ability to walk on the same day at the same d*mn time on our way home from grandma’s house when I was 6. That Life & that child died that day, but the boy survived. With a broken femur, the doctors put me in a 1 & 1/2 spica body cast from my chest to my toes. To add insult to injury, the bone healed wrong the first time, & the doctors had to re-break, re-set, re-cast my lil Black azz and restart the healing process all over again. When I finally got the cast removed, I was too weak to stand or walk. Too stubborn to ask for help (still) or use crutches, I would drag myself across the floor pulling up on chairs, tables, counters & couches until I was strong enough to stand on my own. Been standing on my own & helping loved ones do the same ever since. We all go through sh1t, some more than others. The pain you experience is guaranteed to steer you in the direction of your moral compass. Should you be in possession of a weak constitution, buckle up, because Life will take you through it. Make you, break you, pull you up & drag you back down again until your foundation is solid & you’re strong enough to stand for something. If it don’t kill you, everyday is an opportunity to be iNspired to be a better version of yourself. You’ve come a long way from where you started N1gga. Without the Losses, the Wins mean nothing.
