In an effort to facilitate donations from our communities and friends in the US, we’re offering this Venmo account from which all funds will be forwarded to the efforts in the following images, as well as the effort organized by @tatianajacanamijoy. Add the word “support” in the note section. ANY AMOUNT COUNTS!

We will share screenshots of the forwarded funds by Monday 8/17! Can we raise $1K for each campaign?!

✨ taken in Barranquilla, Atlantico, Colombia by @lanabaja

In the midst of some of the deepest grief my heart has held I am honored to share this special image I created to support the beautiful and essential Language Justice work of @wavelanguageliberationhub. Please check out and donate to their fundraising effort which is active this week only!

When the invitation came to illustrate an image of an elder and a young person, representing the importance of language as a reservoir of memory, a clear vision began to take shape. As a child growing up en Barranquilla, having mis abuelitas Rosa y Carmen, or my tía Gladys play with my hair (o buscarme piojitos) was by far one of my favorite ways to be. Listening to their conversations, stories, laughter and worries shaped me.

The relationship bonds, memories, traditions, survival tactics, oral histories and promises communicated through hair practices is part of indigenous cultures and communities around the world. Braiding, weaving, touching, caressing, and caring for each others hair is a love and resistance language. May our healing ancestral memories and lessons guide us through the work of healing ourselves and the world.

What Wave does:
Wave partners with organizations and language workers to build critical Language Justice infrastructure. We provide capacity-building and support aimed at transforming organizations to uplift and center multilingual communities. We prepare language workers to support a world where everyone thrives, regardless of the language they speak.

Raising $15k this week only - May 18-24

She comes like a gentle, unstoppable flame. Moving us through the darkness to the light with the confidence of someone who knows her, their power ~ poison or medicina if you know how to move with them.

They get their name from the odor they emit to attract ancient pollinator beetles and flies ~ she knows that pleasure and desire are about the will to exist exactly as one is.

A collaboration between Dani Mercury @mercurymovesme and Li Sierra @lanabaja , our first #BOMBODY flyer is a prayer for protection for all Black, brown, trans, femme, free, borderless beings, on this land and everywhere in the universe!

Repost from @mesitadelamemoria:

Join us at Latimos Juntis/We Beat Together! on Sunday 7/13 from 2-6 PM for an afternoon of community gathering around music, food, open mic and more. We invite our community to show up for each other. Under the present conditions our neighbors are being targeted, persecuted, kidnapped, incarcerated, and lost by the system. The efforts of autonomy organizing are more important than ever. This will be a space to nourish ourselves and to learn the different ways in which we can show up for each other in tangible contributions for our community and to continue the fight for mutual liberation.

We will be practicing community safety protocols, so we invite you to wear masks to protect our most vulnerable community members. Additional masks will be available onsite but we encourage folks to test before arriving.

There will be a $5-$20 Suggested Donation at the entrance. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Donations support our most affected community members.

If you’d like to support by donating food, herbal medicine, funds, etc, please reach out! by @lanabaja
