I answered a phone in downtown Oakland and heard something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

The 1-800-HAPPY BIRTHDAY project honors the heavenly birthdays of Black and Brown lives taken by police violence through the voices of loved ones who continue to love, grieve, and remember. Each voicemail is more than a birthday message. It’s a reminder that every life mattered, every birthday deserved to be celebrated, and every name deserves to be remembered.

May we never become so comfortable with injustice that we stop saying their names. May we continue to honor their lives with remembrance, compassion, and action.

🕊️ Happy Heavenly Birthday to those whose stories continue to inspire us to seek justice and humanity.

“You are what God has planted in the Earth. Within you he has placed seed that will spring from your life so the earth can be sustained… You’re learning the beauty of being planted, nurtured and nourished, so that you can provide sustenance to the world. Purpose is the sustenance you offer to the world. I believe that purpose happens in steps.
1. Agree. You must come into agreement that your existence is seed. You are not random. How do you start is not an indication of how you will finish. Even if your childhood included elements of trauma, it doesn’t mean your seed has been damaged. If you’re still living, breathing, and reading this book, then God is trying to let you know that there is still somewhere God can place you on this earth that will yield a version of you that looks more and more divine. This isn’t even about knowing what you will become, rather, it’s acknowledging that you’re here to become more and more like what God had in mind.
2. Protect. Because you aren’t exactly sure who you are becoming, you must make sure to protect your environment from any habit, friendship, relationship, or opportunity that could stunt your growth. Did you know that just because you take the seed of a Granny Smith apple and place in the ground, that doesn’t guarantee it will produce Granny Smith apples? Producing an apple tree takes more than just planting a seed in the ground. Variables, including the soil, pollen, and climate, all play a role in determining what kind of Apple the tree will produce.
3. Nurture. finally, when your fruit seed begins to take route, you have to consider how you can continue the act of nurturing it. You will know that something is nurturing your seed when it begins to cut through your fears and insecurities, and begin to motivate and empower you. This may come from reading a book like you’re doing now, hearing a speech, listening to a song, connecting with someone you know. Make sure you take notice of the moments when you feel someone is nurturing your seed.”

Survival was necessary. But it was never supposed to be the whole story. 🖤

Beyond Survival reminded me that normalized trauma isn’t the same as healing, high-functioning doesn’t always mean okay, and not every connection is good for your growth.

Sometimes healing means telling the truth, breaking generational silence, setting boundaries, and learning that you don’t have to keep suffering to prove you’ve survived.

I’m making room for a life beyond survival. Are you? ✨

The ocean heard what I no longer explain to people.
🌊

An untitled poem about the sacred art of guarding your heart without hardening it.

Because I refuse to let the world make me cold just because I had to learn discernment.

Still soft. Just more selective. 🌙 🖤

Where community meets the trail 🍃🥾

@thecousinswalk was all about good
people, great energy, and beautiful views. We hit the Bay Area Ridge Trail for a 3 mile loop and reminded ourselves that sometimes the bestipartlisn’t reaching the destination-it’s enjoying the journey together. 🫶🏿

Fresh air, good conversations, laughs, movement, and a little reminder to slow down and take in the beauty around Us. 🌳💚

This holiday season, stay motivated to get outside, move your body, reconnect with nature, and bring your people with you!

The trail is always better with good company. 🥾✨

AN ODE TO THE ART OF FASHION. ✧

Fashion is more than what we wear. It is the art of taking up space, the confidence to be seen, and the freedom to become.

An evening of visionary design, intentional craftsmanship, and unapologetic self-expression at the Needle & Thread Fashion Show in San Francisco curated by @lordinthestitch

Every silhouette tells a story. Every detail holds a vision. And every walk is an opportunity to make a statement without saying a word.

Grateful to have been part of a celebration where fashion meets art, and individuality takes center stage.

Not just wearing the look. Becoming the moment.

Looking for something different on a Thursday?

Our first R&B House Thursday at Nosso was a whole vibe! 😮‍💨🔥 The mocktails were refreshing, the oxtail sliders were SMACKIN’ 🤤, and the music was SLAPPIN’! 🎶🍹 Definitely a spot I’ll be running back to. If you love good food, good drinks, and good music, add this one to your list! 💃🏾✨

Head to toe?
Baby, I BEEN understood the assignment. 😮‍💨💋✨

Put on the fancy dress just to remind myself I’m that girl. 😂🥂

Cute, curvy, outside-ish, and looking like somebody’s future problem. 😌

The energy was EVERYTHING! 🔥 From the creativity of the handmade designers to the organization and overall vibe, this event was such a beautiful experience. It was an honor to be part of a project that celebrates artistry, craftsmanship, and the people who bring fashion to life with their own hands. 🪡✨

Thank you for the opportunity to walk, show up, and be part of something so special! 🥹❤️ More moments like this, please!
