Trying to get out and take more nature shots recently. Still not that good at it but here’s a sample of ones I liked from a recent trip to Eagle Creek. All of these were taken within about 2 hours in a half mile radius. We’re lucky to still have places this rich and diverse with life, but I would point out they are under threat everywhere, and the reservoir is no exception. Mid-year post. Been a crazy couple of weeks. Turned 30 in NOLA with a hat that did NOT fit

Went to my 3rd 500

500 mood

Saw an insane photo finish

Made a questionable escape to Pawn Shop

Hit the spot after 20k steps

Tried to participate in music at potluck but mostly listened

Visited plenty of cafes

Saw an old old bookshop in Pirate Alley

Every day in NOLA made a stop

Took the free tour at Sazerac

Got some samples of the Sazerac spirits lineup

Went on a swamp tour outside the city, which unfortunately was cut short by a summer thunderstorm

Stacked some dimes in the rain over a daiquiri on Bourbon St

Ate at the famous Commander’s Palace

Heard a ton of live music

Made a stop in Toledo w/ good friends.. disposable film shots pending

Got through a literal rain on the parade

Messed up the group photo

Didn’t die at the beer garden… which was more of a possibility than I’d have cared for.

Anyway I’m old now by @lancepk

Today would have been my grandmother’s 70th birthday, but she didn’t get the time she deserved. Anyway, her favorite color was green. I’m not sure if color can be a subject, but if it can…here’s my amateur attempt at making it so.

Last night I had a dream she was still around, which isn’t that uncommon. This one hit me a bit harder though, because she turned to me and said “you know I’m not really here, right?” Yeah, I know. But I see you anyway when I see green.

I’m not usually sentimental, especially on socials, but maybe that will change. Probably straight back to brain rot after this. Thanks for reading. by @lancepk

Last week I made a trip out to the desert to see some good friends of mine and check out their back yard.

Went into Zion National Park, explored the site of Redbull Rampage, battled the wind, sampled the local brews, figured out how to sleep in my car, saw some Dino tracks, and made a few new pet friends (or maybe just Grayson). No regrets. Not even the 24 hour drive.

Thank you @midshelfirishwhiskey & @kelsestes (AKA @letscargoplaces ) for hosting me even under less than ideal circumstances. Until next time taken in Zion National Park by @lancepk
