archives from the sidelines // It was an honor to cover @belmontwbb @belmont_mbb on the sidelines over the past two seasons.

To our production team, thanks for helping me along this SO MUCH on this journey.

To all the Bruin student athletes I interviewed (on court and beyond) thanks for sacrificing your time for a couple of questions here and there.

To our coaches, thanks for being flexible and honest in winning and losing situations. Thanks to everyone who made the experience great — I hope you all appreciate my work as much as I do yours.

PAW 2026

Always a pleasure attending the National Convention for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Our longstanding church organization. A great experience seeing everyone on one accord celebrating Jesus Christ. Pastors from all over the world to spread the gospel. People traveled from near and far — dressed very dapper — to hear to the Good Word. This year’s event theme was 1 Corinthians 15:58. Thurgood Marshall is back in Columbia, Tennessee. Words cannot express the magnitude of this moment for our city.

This statue means so much to me, those that look like me, my family, and my community. In 1946, the Columbia Race Riots took place, and Marshall came to defend African Americans on and around East 8th street. In 2025, Marshall has returned as a symbol of hope, progress and perseverance.

The events of 1946 in Columbia had a major impact on this country and the early steps of the greater Civil Rights movement that came years later. My family has been in this community for 100+ years. My maternal great grandmother, Mary, and her older brother, Robert were here in 1946 as teenagers. They are both in their late 90s now and have told me about their experiences. They told me the National Guard was here, and white mobs arrived, raiding black owned businesses in the “Mink Slide” and the “Bottom.” My paternal great grandmother Lucy, was downtown when the uprising began and had to hitch a ride to get back to the farm before she was harmed. My paternal grandfather, Earnest spent a lot of time down on East 8th street and personally knew some of the men who were wrongfully accused.

This is history. It means so much to me. And even to those who did not live to witness this moment. Thank you our friend and Mayor Chaz Molder, My Auntie Dr. Christa S. Martin, Mr. DA Clark for sculpting , and the ENTIRE Columbia Peace and Justice Initiative committee, for bringing Thurgood back.

Took a trip down to the A,
no better time to go see OKC play.
The Thunder have always been my favorite team.
Most of yall just haters
so u don’t know what I mean.
Had my guy by my side
and u probably think we just regular fans,
but really we two guys that know a lotta ball
 up in the stands.
OKC got the win, and for that we can toast.
Some of yall thinking… “Man he always sharing something, slick tryna boast.” 🤬
And my response is…
not everyone has a picture with @shai to post 🤷🏾‍♂️ taken in State Farm Arena by @landenksecrest

“Can’t tell you where I’m going, just know I won’t stop. Goodbye to the bottom, hello to the top.” - J.Cole

On Friday, I will graduate from college and it’s hard to put in to words how I feel right now. I’m so thankful for everyone I’ve met in my time at Belmont. This is such a special place, filled with special people. I can’t name all of things great things God has done for me since I’ve been here, because there are so many. I’ve discovered my passion, made lifelong friends and had experiences that will last a lifetime. I’ve lost friends. I’ve escaped my comfort zone. I’ve grown up. But I’m thankful for it all — the highs and the lows. Because I know how far I’ve come.

Thank you Belmont. Thank you Jesus.
