@landofjulia's latest mural in Finland celebrates women in sport.

The piece features five female characters taking part in Finnish baseball, roller skating, football and skateboarding.

For Júlia, the mural is personal. She grew up playing competitive tennis in Brazil and knows what it feels like to enter spaces where there aren't many girls.

Her hope is that a young girl seeing the mural might feel a little more confident, thinking: I can do this too.

Land of Júlia
Concreate Urban Art Festival 2026 - Kajaani

Land of Júlia (Júlia Mota Albequerque) is a Brazilian mural artist known for her colourful, playful, and optimistic visual language. Her work celebrates community, diversity, togetherness and, increasingly, women in sports.

The mural by Land of Júlia features female athletes in bright colors and sharp lines. Influenced by her own background in sports, the artist aims to inspire girls to keep going in traditionally male-dominated fields. The mural shows a variety of sports, including Finnish baseball as a nod to the local culture.

–

From July 6–19, 2026, Concreate Urban Art Festival took over Kajaani in Northern Finland, bringing together 18 artists from around the world to create one of Finland’s most significant collections of urban art. Concrete was part of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme and the Kajaani 375th anniversary celebrations.

📍Centro de Salud San Pablo. Calle Aguadores, 7

PUBLIC VOTING! I participated on an open call a few weeks ago and my concept was selected for a public voting in Potsdam *today* 🙃 if you would like to support you can check out all the info on @kreativquartierpotsdam page. There is a grand opening happening from 11 - I will definitely be there in the evening, so see you maybe? 🤭

They are having a lot of super cool things going on the whole day, including markets, exhibitions, open studios and a in person voting for all the murals and installations that will take place there. So you can literally choose the art that will be there forever afterwards, how cool is that

Oh, in the reel there are some of the characters from my mural concept, will share more on my stories! Byee taken in Potsdam, Germany by @landofjulia

I was very tired this day so not a lot of talking but, I filmed a lot of the painting process. There are also some long videos at the end of me just blabbering about what's left to do... I was very low energy so forgive the slowness please 🙃 taken in Kajaani, Finland by @landofjulia
