THANK YOU Mr. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson!This titan brought himself to town to show us all what he has been doing when we don’t even see. We were shown: projections, successes, actual timelines with progress, the obstacles the news didn’t share, the additional purchases, what has already been done (much of which hasn’t been shared), what is happening right this minute as well as the next steps of what is happening step by step. We were not just told things…we were shown things…real things that everyone can see and get excited about.He clearly is driven to make Shreveport a mecca entertainment capitol. And we were shown how its projected to look. It is glorious!His whit was overpouring with clever responses and truthful reactions.One thing he says he loves about Shreveport:“Its a democratic place to stay with a republican mayor”Our audience of citizens, actors, film makers, crew, teachers, comedians, performers, musicians, creatives, developers and curious humans simply adored the reassurance we all have. When 50 gives his word he keeps his word! Q&A:When he first came to Shreveport he was asked what he thought of this place. He described how he saw the vacant old stained buildings and no people and stated; “It was as if the vampires ate the people”. Very clever as the TRUE BLOOD series began here in Shreveport.His sense of humor was matched only by his heart, his vision and dedication to commitment.When asked what small businesses he sees pop up downtown he responded “Do you know the Dollar Store? Im gonna make one called 50 cent store”When asked how his gangsta persona will be effective in shreveport he said “Im not tough. Would I wear this if I were tough?” adjusting his peach vest within his striking gold three piece suit This is not the place to bring “tuff”…pick another place to exercise your “tough”…Shreveport is not it.There were so many facts, figures, illustrations, guides, visual aids, professional and casual conversation, that I cannot possibly recall it all. But I must agree that its one of THE most i formative and enjoyable meetings Ive attended!If its possible to watch by @landrum_arts
