Summer 2026 is almost over, so time to reflect on all that I got done these past couple of months as a part time muralist!!
This summer has truly been a dream come true, and I love all my clients and their fun ideas <3

College starts up again september 1st, so ill be back to doing science stuff for the time being, you know, studying and all that. But, this semester im planning on keeping up with my art and making time for the thing I love the most... painting!!

(Ps. Seems like I got a lot of new followers, so for those of you who dont know me, I'm Alaina, a full time student at Rutgers NB studying Geoscience who also loves painting!!!)

This past month I was commissioned by @cpali_conservation to illustrate 6 endemic silk moths of Madagascar!!
This was such a fun project and I enjoyed researching and drawing each unique moth and their little cocoon <3
Hand drawn by me and my I pad pencil on procreate ;p
Such a pleasure to design something so special for such a great organization!
.
A little bit more about CPALI:
They are a small non-profit founded by an evolutionary biologist. They work hand-in-hand with a national organization in Madagascar to uplift farmers and artisans living in poverty in one of the world’s most critical places for biodiversity conservation.

In their people-centered conservation approach, they combine science and art. They teach local farmers to rear six endemic species of wild silk moth to restore habitat with their host plants, and train local artisans to make ethical cocoon silk and raffia palm textiles. This process helps regenerate scarred landscapes, provides dignity through fair employment to a team of talented women artisans, and enables subsistence farmers to earn needed income to keep their children in school. by @lane.scribbles

Painting a canvas only using acrylic paint markers instead of studying for my midterms!!! 💕💓💖🫣 by @lane.scribbles

My first gallery show and the 10 paintings that got me in!!
The Curator's theme was nature and thought these paintings would go great in her show!
I had these listed in my portfolio/website. She reached out and said she loved what she saw and now I somehow am going to be exhibiting with 3 other artists alongside their incredible peices!!
The reception is september 27th from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. Hope to see you there!! by @lane.scribbles

Pallet vs Painting for my most recent painting: the great blue heron!!
This will be in a show for a local nature center, where a portion of the sale will be donated to the center for conservation efforts and to help support their community activites!!

Adding a little bit more life to an old digital painting from high school <3 by @lane.scribbles

My largest oil painting commission ever!!!
So honored to have been considered and hired for this massive project!!
Think I might start using oil paint more often 🤔
Anyway..... this project almost killed me, that ugly stage is really where you got to trust the process and trust your abilities for sure.
Now the only thing I have to do is figure out a way to frame and ship this monster!!!

Starry night themed mural for @carpio_tattoos
This was so much fun and although we broke our necks painting this, it was totally worth it 💙🩵
I think my favorite part is the gold embellishments added to the stars for some ✨️sparkle✨️
