“dreamboat” release post:

so proud of @maelynmusic for this one.

when i heard the demos she was working on with @katersteinberg almost 4 years ago, i immediately knew she was a frickin force.

like “getting hit by a garbage truck” force. ribs caved in, limbs pointing in the wrong directions, but you’re thinking “damn how the fuck did i miss that, i guess i wasn’t looking too hard. also what smells”

she came on board with my new label @moonrecords.mp3 which was incredibly trusting and cool of her because i wasn’t a creepy old industry man (yet) with big promises and big radio payola money.

but i believed in her like all hell and i was just extremely lucky to be in the same place at the same time. and to have really dope friends.

and now, a dozen or so seasons later, “dreamboat” is here.

a WAV file on the internet.

but a really special WAV file that has a *ridiculous* amount of heart in it.

thank you for trusting me with your first original, Maelyn. this is a really special song. you da best.

and thanks to the best squad of label & studio folks, musicians, and homies who helped out along the way.

@katersteinberg: everything
@jordanrosedrums : drums
@tigerdarrow: string arranging
@mollyviolin: violin
@monicare28: viola & violin
@jambiggins: cello
@combsmattstrings: strings
@simonkafka: acoustics
@danmillice: mastering
@ethanscaffolding: asst engineering and a ton along the way

sooo.. i moved the studio out of our greenpoint home of 12 years. 😅

here are a few snaps of some of the amazing memories we’ve had in this space.

i’ve spent the better part of this year laying the groundwork for my new label @moonrecords.mp3 and i couldn’t be more pumped. been working towards this for a long time and it’s finally time to dive in.

more updates to come soon about our first releases and the new space we’re building.

thanks for your support over the years and for following along, i appreciate y’all. 🤘👽 -LB taken in moon records by @lanebanning
