🎃👻Spooky season is here, so when you’re getting creative with your Halloween decorations, spare a thought for our local wildlife and give the fake spiderwebs a miss.

Birds and other wildlife such as possums, bats, lizards and insects can get caught up artificial webbing and be seriously harmed.

Why not take creative inspiration from nature instead?!

🌿 Use natural materials such as:
Straw
Sheep’s wool
Sticks and twigs
Leaves and other organic garden waste

🚫 Give these risky materials a miss, or keep them inside only where wildlife can’t reach them:
Fake spiderwebs
Fishing line
Rope, string and yarn
Cotton wool
Fruit tree netting

🚨 Found a tangled animal? Don’t try to pull it free. If it’s safe, cover it with a towel to keep it calm and call WIRES on 1300 094 737. by @lanecovecouncil

This Motorcycle Awareness Month, let’s all do our part to make our roads safer for everyone!

Motorcycles are smaller and can be harder to see in traffic, but every rider deserves to get home safely.

🚗 For drivers:
✅ Check your blind spots before changing lanes
✅ Look twice at intersections and before turning
✅ Allow plenty of space when following motorcycles
✅ Be patient and give riders room to manoeuvre

🏍️ For riders:
✅ Wear the correct protective gear including a properly fitted helmet
✅ Ride defensively and stay visible
✅ Adjust your riding to suit road and weather conditions
✅ Stay alert and anticipate potential hazards

One moment of awareness can make all the difference. Look out for each other and help every rider make it home safely ❤️ by @lanecovecouncil
