it has been two weeks, and i still have no words for what happened. even worse, i don’t think there will ever be enough words to do skylar justice.
skylar was the epitome of good and sunshine. i will forever be able to hear her infectious laugh, know her crazy jokes, and see her genuine love for anyone and everyone around her. to know skylar was to know that she was too good. she was spunky, kind, loving, fearless, determined, bubbly, and truly a gift to this world.
never in a million years did i think that something like this could happen and it still doesn’t feel real. every day i have found myself being so incredibly angry with the situation. how could someone be so selfish to do something that resulted in losing two of the most kind hearted people there is. however i know that skylar wouldn’t want me to continue being angry. she was always the one telling me that things happen for a reason.
i met sky because of her brother but not long after, it was clear that i was gonna be friends with her for a long time. one of my favorite memories of skylar will always be when she gave me my nickname of “the better laney”. there was a story behind it that is now a funny joke but the nickname stuck. everyone couldn’t help but laugh when she was around. she was so skylar and everyone couldn’t help but love her, and i know that love will never change.
I truly believe that God knew what he was doing both when he placed skylar here on this earth, to be the bright, sunshine, bubbly, kindhearted, loving girl, and when he decided it was time for her to go home. There will never be a time that it’s not hard, but i will continue to find joy in the fact that i got the privilege to know her. until we meet again my skylar girl, i love you forever. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 by @laney.elliott
