Hey local friends! I’ve been hearing from a lot of you asking for my recommendations on some of our very local races with no listed party affiliation, here they are! I’ve also included additional information where I feel like it’s important. If anyone would like to talk about any of the candidates or has any questions about why I came to the conclusions I did, or if you want more info, I am happy to talk and I’m open to your DMs or comments on the post!

They Are To Serve Us

On 9/1/26, Tarrant County Commissioners Court met to vote on the reduction from 316 polling places to 224. Community came out in force to push back. Tim, Matt, and Manny ignored them all.

This is Laney Hawes. Tim blocks her on Twitter (it will never be “X”). And she rightly says we should be spending our county money running free and fair elections. November is coming.

We’re a bit late posting about our wonderful time at The Texas Library Association Conference in March, but since this week is National Library Week, we wanted to share! @txla_1902. We met so many great librarians, authors, publishers, and vendors. And there’s no place we’d rather be fighting for the freedom to read than here in Texas! If you got one of our hats at the conference, don’t forget to tag us when you wear them. And if you weren’t able to snag one, we hope to make them available for purchase soon. And lastly, in celebration of National Library Week, stop by your local public or school library and thank a librarian, or email your local elected officials and tell them how important libraries are to your community. ❤️📚 by @laneyhawes

#SEAT26 PANELIST 🪑📚 Laney Hawes lives in Fort Worth and is Co-Founder of Texas Freedom to Read Project. Laney is a passionate advocate for intellectual freedom, she’s mother to four Texas public school students, she’s an adventurer, and an avid storyteller.

Her journey into fighting censorship began in 2021 when dozens of books were removed from her children’s school libraries and far-right PACs took control of her local school board. Now, Laney is dedicated to empowering parents, supporting librarians, and defending the freedom to read in Texas and across America.

Join us and Laney for #SEAT26 Advocacy Day’s kickoff evening program on Friday, April 17 at Plano Environmental Education Center. Our statewide summit will be hosted at Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 18. RSVP today at https://seatx.org/26 or LINK IN BIO 🔗 by @laneyhawes

Here she is Lamb Cake 2026. I had another plan for her mouth & teeth but it didn’t work and I had to pivot last minute. And one of her ears completely detached while frosting her and I had to re-enforce it with frosting and a toothpick. She’s a Chantilly Vanilla Cake (the Trader Joe’s dupe). And I even tried to give her a raspberry runny center like had been suggested by so many of you, but the raspberry compote I made solidified a bit more than expected. But she is as always, DELICIOUS. I love her. #lambcake #easterlambcake by @laneyhawes

The results are in for Texas State Senate District 9, and the message is clear: communities value the First Amendment over Moms for Liberty’s unpopular agenda.

We are thrilled to celebrate Taylor Rehmet’s victory over Leigh Wambsganss, a massive win for public education that proves book banning is unpopular and a losing strategy. As shown in our film, THE LIBRARIANS, Wambsganss was a primary architect of the movement to pull books from shelves, using Patriot Mobile Action to funnel tens of thousands of dollars into school board races to enforce these bans since 2021. This victory belongs to the librarians, parents, and students who refused to be silenced and turned their stories into a movement for change. Get the tools you need to protect your community’s Freedom to Read and join us THIS SATURDAY 5pmET for an online @KinemaHQ screening and conversation. Get tickets now! by @laneyhawes

Can anyone actually watch this video and then read Trump’s statement and continue to believe this man should be president?

This man will make up bold faced lies to defend and excuse the government killing of American citizens.

Is there any level of dishonesty MAGA won’t excuse for this man or deflect from? Where is the line for Trump voters? For US Senators and US Reps?

America, we have a problem. The man “leading” this country is a lying pig. He lies to the American people and here’s your proof. Why lie about this when we’ve all seen the video? Imagine what else he lies about.

If you voted for this man, it’s time to swallow your Pride, pull your head out of the sand, watch this video and Trump’s description of what happened and then pull your shit together and join the rest of us to save this beautiful country. by @laneyhawes

Donald Trump’s Cheif of Staff Susie Wiles in A December Interview:

But Wiles conceded that attacking targets on Venezuela's mainland would force Trump to get congressional approval. "If he were to authorize some activity on land, then it's war, then [we'd need] Congress.
