Showing off my study at home! Pretty happy with all the thrifted and salvaged items I was able to accumulate to make this space work! Aside from Books and Vinyl this space is 90% second hand :D #thrifted #bookstagram #homedecor by @lanfiesta
Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn, Era 1. I thoroughly enjoyed going through all of these novels. I’m currently going through all of The Cosmere, Sanderson’s shared universe, and Era 1 of Mistborn is a strong entry. Coming off of The Stormlight Archive I had high expectations and I had them met in these novels. There is much to love but I will only account for a couple of things in this brief spoiler free review and retrospective. The Characters: Sanderson does a great job of multi POV books where you can engage with multiple characters but never feel like you are too far removed from other characters or confused on why you need to see a certain perspective. All the characters you get to engage with are interesting and enjoyable to learn and grow with. While some reviews I read disliked some of the MCs we follow, I had no such issues and actually liked some of the characters people were critical of the most. A great cast of characters overall and all people you can grow attached to and find something you can empathize with in their stories and struggles. The Power System: This series contains some of the most fun and developed power systems I’ve seen. What I love is that everything very consistent throughout and can be explained and replicated. It also evolves as the reader and our characters understand more of the history of the powers and systems behind it. Sometimes the suspense in a fantasy book is ruined for me when I know that a soft magic system can simply do whatever the plot demands and I didn’t feel that here. I like that when something crazy happens there is a plausible and good in universe explanation that requires creative thinking or exploits. If you are looking to get into Sanderson’s works and enjoy a faster paced fantasy series I believe this is an excellent place to start. In fact it may be the ideal place to start outside of a couple of standalone novels in The Cosmere. I’m looking forward to beginning Mistborn Era 2 once I finish some more of his standalone novels! If you see me running on rooftops in a mistcloak in the meantime don’t worry about it, I’m jus reminiscing on this great series. by @lanfiesta

Chainsawman Reze Arc Film items! So excited to have these for the collection! by @lanfiesta
A Fall post for #mangaween25 ! Featuring: • A Fall color themed manga stack • Junji Ito themed spooky stack • A24 and Robert Egger’s The Lighthouse Film Pamphlet The Film Pamphlet is especially neat because it features artwork of scenes in the film illustrated by Junji Ito! I threw together a little video at the end with English translations that compare the scenes a bit. Happy fall everyone! by @lanfiesta
