So here it is.

I’ve taken some time to actually reflect on this past weekend. For some reason, I didn’t feel the urge to immediately post about it or share it in sheer joy.

This time was different.

The whole day of the match, I was in a haze of emotions and fear. I felt dizzy, almost like I was looking for a way out. I’m still not entirely sure why, but in some strange way, that gave me a sense of calm.

I couldn’t rely on adrenaline or excitement. I had to rely on my skill, my preparation, and trust that the road I’m on is the road I’m supposed to be on.

Eoughen was someone I wasn’t scared of, but I was very aware of what he brings. If he got hold of something, there was a good chance I’d have to endure a break of some sort.

Everyone says, “It’s just a tap.”

But for some reason, in the heat of the moment, I know my mind can neglect that.

I have a lot of respect for Eoughen — both as an athlete and as a person. In many ways, I consider him a friend. His accomplishments in ADCC are greater than mine, and I knew he was coming into this one in great shape.

The match itself couldn’t have been more fun.
Win or lose, I can honestly say this would have been one of the most enjoyable matches I’ve ever had. The level of the game we both played, the intelligence, the strategy, and the fact that we both had a clear idea of what we wanted to do made it something special.

Thank you to Eoughen and everyone at @losbanditosclub for always being solid people, even when we have to face each other.
You’re a great team and a huge part of the rise of European grappling.

And thank you to @polaris_professional for once again believing in me and giving me another chance in this game. That means more to me than you probably know.

To everyone back home — thank you.
For pushing me, helping me, and being there through both the dark days and the sunny ones.

To @modigmartialarts for listening to all my bs🙏

And finally, to @kingzkimonos .
Thank you for giving me another chance and continuing to believe in me. I hope you can see that I’m doing everything I can to represent you the best way I know how.

This journey isn’t always easy.
But I’m still here.
And I’m still fighting. 🖤 taken in Wulfing Academy by @langakerbjj

Ran for mental health today. 🏃‍♂️

A great way to start the Saturday 🔥

Take care of each other. You never truly know what someone is going through or what battles they’re fighting behind closed doors.

Check in on your teammates. Check in on your friends.
Sometimes a simple “How are you?” means more than you think. ❤️

Two of Europe's best are set to compete for the very first time.

@langakerbjj is a pioneer of European Jiu Jitsu and one of the most popular grapplers in Polaris history. Tommy has continually put on exciting matches over the last decade and on October 3rd, he will be looking to secure a big win and stake a claim for a rematch with our champ @owenlivesey.

@eoghanoflanagan has proven himself to be one of the world's best after another epic ADCC run and now he'll be keen to continue his impressive form on the Polaris mats.

Who will be victorious in Doncaster?
