Chintz shower caps I made for myself, my mother, my grandmother and her best friend, Beverly. Bev turned 80 and we all love a good shower cap. I found a vintage Schumacher chintz and went to town. Baroque ballroom spotted on The Bowery!

Today: Graffiti, influence, and taking what you know best and bringing it to the medium. This summer I started making slaps with fictional interiors sketched on them. It is an exercise in imagination and participation with the world around me.

Does the Hotel match the Drapes?
You might not catch it at first glance, but the curtains in my studio were painstakingly hand block printed by me and my mother. It was one of those things that snow balled. “If I’m going to make some curtains, I might as well make the fabric as I wanted. And if I’m going to make printed fabric, I might as well custom design a block print based off of a hotel I stayed at in Mexico this spring.”
The hotel had this amazing repetition of green quatrefoils and red diamonds in the central lobby up to the mezzanine. It was impressive. The pattern stuck in my head and landed a place in my studio. I carved the rubber blocks, mixed custom ink colors and we got to work for a cool 20 hours of labor. I think the juice was worth the squeeze.
