My dad passed away on February 18 2025 at 9:15 PM. He went with my mom, my sister and myself present. His transition was peaceful. To say I’m heart broken is an understatement. My dad was the best and MY biggest fan. Bc of him I know how to throw a football, he took me to my first haircut, we would play softball together in the street or parks, he trusted me when I told him I knew how to drive 🥴 he jumped out the car and had me drive his HUGE Dodge Ram, he bought me my first car and raced me through Griffith Park, insisted I wore only name brand shoes haha, always talked about the Raiders, TRIED to teach me how to do a cartwheel. The list goes on. My dad was a good man, a gentle giant & so handsome! Beautiful on the inside and out. For 5 years he has been fighting against cancer. It’s been a battle but one I can’t regret being apart of. I was there for the first meeting with his Dr., the first chemo session, picking him up from radiation, dropping off food, picking up food, watching the game together, brushing back his hair and holding his hand, massaging him to bring down to swelling, spending days and nights in the hospital, praying over his mind & body, listening to him cry and laugh. We would talk about how I would braid his hair when it grew back and play catch again in the street. We experienced these things together and no one can take that from me. I love my dad. I hate that he’s gone but I’m so grateful he’s no longer in pain. Where he is now is with Our Father in Heaven. Living eternally in a city of pure gold, streets of gold, gates with pearls and walls with jewels, lit by the glory of God. “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Yes, my dad is gone physically, but he will always be with me in my spirit, I look around and I see him everywhere. Treasure these moments you have with your friends and family. What I wouldn’t give for another day with my dad. 💔 by @lanixbraids
