My second time seeing @chatpileband . I cannot express how intense and all-consuming their music is to hear, see (and feel) live. But the icing on the cake is always the movie and book banter in between songs by @raygun_busch . Including a reference to the awesome bookstore in my new neighborhood, Bookman’s, which has taken the place of my Los Feliz’s Skylight Books, which I miss dearly. Thanks also to Stin for the hookup and good chats (no pun intended) after the show.

IDLES / WIZINK CENTER, MADRID - 2024.03.01
Mind blown! What an incredible time not only escaping to Europe, including seeing @idlesband play multiple shows, but also getting to capture them playing in beautiful Madrid. Seeing them captivate filled arenas for the release of their TANGK album is proof that IDLES have an even brighter future in store for them in the coming years. And seeing them play at @wizinkcenter with another one of my favorite UK bands, @ditzband , was a double blessing. More shots to come. They deserve it.

REFUSED / MARQUEE THEATRE - 2025.03.30
The final tour. This would be my 4th time seeing @refused the last few years, including an amazing impromptu in-store show at the tiny Vacation Records in Silver Lake a few years ago. This band has meant so much to me, especially as a musician, since I heard The Shape of Punk to Come a few months after it came out. I believe I had it on cassette if I remember correctly! I’m stoked they sent us off with a bang, including the surprise appearance of @robert_fish from @108bandofficial doing two songs with the band towards the end of their set. If you’re a fan like me, I hope you got to see them on this final farewell tour. #refusedarefuckingdead

PLACK BLAGUE / 191 TOOLE - 2025.03.24 w/ The Faint
@plackblague are an anomaly. They’re the nicest people and so fucking great live (i.e. they Blague HARD!), which affords them the respect of bands from a flattering spectrum of overlapping musical genres. Currently, they’re touring with their fellow Nebraska team mates, @thefaint, which makes for a 110% perfect match. I’m not going to fib, I’m a Blague-head; I never miss a show if at all humanly possible. And if these shots aren’t enough to prove why, then please go ahead and politely pound sand.
