Buffalo 8 has acquired North American distribution rights to the gothic horror thriller The Raven, a haunting, noir-inspired adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s iconic works The Raven and Annabel Lee. The official trailer debuts today.

The Raven will release just ahead of Poe’s birthday and is currently available for pre-order on Fandango at Home, to be followed by an On Demand release on January 16, 2026 (this Friday) in the U.S. across @amazonprime, @fandango at home, @verizon fios, @hoopladigital, and major cable platforms, with additional territories and platforms to follow.

Directed and written by Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Gregori J. Martin (The Bay), The Raven is set in a shadowy, 1940s-inspired world and follows a grieving man who spirals into madness in the hours after burying his beloved Annabel Lee. As a mysterious raven appears, he is drawn into a nightmarish descent marked by guilt, supernatural encounters, and the fragile boundary between life and death.

The film stars multi–Emmy Award–winning actor Kristos Andrews (Survive the Game, Breakout), Emmy Award–winning actor Mike Manning (This Is Us, Beyond the Gates), Rae Dawn Chong (The Color Purple), Victoria Baldesarra (November 1963, The Next Step) and Tony Todd (Candyman, The Rock). The Raven marks Todd’s final performance and holds particular significance following the legendary actor’s passing in November 2024. While his final cinematic appearance was in Final Destination: Bloodlines, The Raven stands as a poignant late-career role that underscores his enduring presence in genre cinema.

The Raven was produced by LANY Entertainment and SheMogul Media with Precious V. Mayes (Take No Prisoners, Darkness of Man) serving as Executive Producer, alongside Buffalo 8 co-founders Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor.

Blending classic literary horror with a noir sensibility, The Raven reimagines Poe’s themes of loss, obsession, and the supernatural through a contemporary cinematic lens.

This is inspiring and has been happening forever but I think now is more crucial than ever, so thought I’d share.

As the industry begins to take new turns, more and more folks are taking control of their own destiny…
