Studio Recipes 🪄 Ep. 2 Abracadabra! Okay because nobody told you this wall moves 👀

We get it…it’s a big, beautiful, slightly intimidating bookshelf and it looks like it belongs exactly where it’s parked. But Madi said not today.

She flipped it, rolled it, and built two completely different sets from one piece. First came the Greek-inspired bookshelf featuring one of a kind olive jars, blessed with a little pampas (we still love pampas right?) and cream velvet anchoring the whole thing. Then she turned it around and somehow talked us into a cute little podcast setup against the limewash with our favorite green velvet chair, our podcast mics, and natural light that had absolutely no business looking that good 👩🏾‍🍳💋.

Two sets. One beautiful wall. And we cannot wait to see what you do with it when you get in here.

You know how we always say this space is yours as much as it’s ours? Well… y’all have been talking, and we’ve been listening.

Here’s what’s new at Laolu Studios — a few updates before we drop the full studio tour:

• That seamless paper system you keep booking for? We added another one. Yep, more colors. You asked. We delivered.

• Our new grounded modern corner has entered the chat. Clean lines, cozy texture, and a mirror that’s already been the background of a few iconic selfies. It’s the only thing that doesn’t move — because you’ll want it just where it is.

• Plants? We’ve got more. Because if your content doesn’t pop against lush, layered textures, then what are we even doing?

• Oh, and peep our new rolling wall. One side = a clean backdrop. The other = a bookshelf moment. Multifunctionality is our love language.

• And finally, the fireplace mantel. You heard right. We added it to bring a more homey, lived-in vibe to our most-loved setup. It’s giving sophisticated, curated comfort. For content creators looking to channel cozy editorial energy, this is your new corner.

As always, everything in this space is made to move with you — just remember to put things back how you found them. That’s the deal.

Texture and Architecture are the real stars of Laolu II ✨

Meet @iamgabrialrushton, glowing through a few test shots inside Laolu II. We wanted to see how the space held up against real light and real movement before anything is official, and she made it easy to fall in love with what’s coming.

If there’s one thing you’ll notice as we keep pulling back the curtain (pun very much intended), it’s texture. The architecture isn’t background here, it’s part of the story, and we’re just getting started showing you why.

People love a reveal. What they don’t see is everything that happens before it. The trial and error, the damaged deliveries, the thrifting, the “wait, that doesn’t fit,” and the late night toll rides to the space simply to make the time after that already long day. That’s what this season of building Laolu II has looked like, and honestly, we wouldn’t rush past it even if we could. Preparation isn’t the Pinterest pin. It’s the part that makes the reveal worth showing. Studio Recipes 🪄 Ep. 3: POV: you’ve booked this studio five times and still didn’t know this wall was on wheels.

We limewashed it ourselves. Is it screaming DIY? 😶‍🌫️ Earlier this year we put it up for a vote in stories because we thought maybe it was time for a new color. The votes were so split… so it stayed exactly as is, and honestly we get it now. Sometimes you just need a classic backdrop to capture your moments.

The other side gives you the arch bookshelf, styled with our olive jar collection that lives here full time. Bring your own props if you want to make it yours.

Two backdrops hiding in one piece of furniture, and it rolls exactly where you need it to. We love her.

Some corners of the studio just know how to show off.

We didn’t do much to this one, just a few of our little tricks. We like to play with height first, pairing a tall piece like these brass candlesticks with something lower and more textured, just enough so the eye has somewhere to wander. Then we leave a little room to breathe, because an overstyled mantel starts feeling cluttered the second the camera’s rolling. And honestly? Half the magic is just timing. That soft afternoon light hits this wall in a way no ring light could ever dream of replicating.

I mean a white wall is cute 😗, but for the whimsy creative...

Current seamless paper options in Studio I: 12 colors, 2 systems. System 1 keeps it classic with white, black, gray, brown, red and pink. System 2 is where things get a little more fun: bone, yellow, lilac, true blue, teal and a sage green that deserves more screen time.
