***Senior Lead Officer Map Update***

A Senior Lead Officer (SLO) is a community focused officer who serves as the main liaison between the police department and the neighborhoods they oversee. Their role is part of community policing efforts, aimed at building trust, improving communication, and addressing long-term public safety concerns.

LAPD Harbor Division has the honor of serving the community with supervisor Sergeant Terrazas and 9 Senior Lead Officers who look, listen and act on the situations to find a solution. taken in LAPD Harbor Community Police Station by @lapdharb05

The LAPD has shifted to a online platform that allows certain criminal reports to be filed online. Certainly criteria does have to be met and there is a turn around time for the report to be reviewed. Along with the emergency number of 911 a non-emergency number is also provided to citizens. Please see the above post on how the process works. taken in LAPD Harbor Community Police Station by @lapdharb05

Officer Dunlop and Garcia were patrolling when they observed a vehicle speeding on local streets. They activated their lights and sirens to stop it when the suspect turned his headlights and taillights off. The suspect then quickly turned into a drive way thinking he would lose the officers.

Our officers are smart and definitely not blind. They immediately locate the vehicle and detained the driver and passenger.

Officer observed multiple open containers in the vehicle. On getting the driver and passenger out of the vehicle they observed a firearm.

The suspect driver is now serving time behind bars. Another great example of proactive policing at its best.

On Sept. 30th Harbor Officers and School PD played a friendly flag football game against the Dana Middle school athletes. (Officers on this time! 🥳) Today we followed up with the students in a classroom setting where they asked questions about life, our career and the issues they face as youth today. Thank you Mr. Valles for allowing us in your classroom 📚💙 Next game is ⚽️ in the spring! #danams #youthoutreach #lausdschoolpd taken in San Pedro, California by @lapdharb05

Last week Officers Pineda and Corces were patrolling in Wilmington when they observed a suspect exit from a gate to his residence. The suspect saw officers and instantly gave them a “I’m going to jail” look. The suspect took off running from officers. The officers were puzzled until they observed a firearm in his waistband as he ran southbound through the property.

A perimeter was set up and SWAT was called in. The suspect eventually came out of the residence not wanting his door to be broken down. A warrant was executed for the property and firearms were recovered.

Multiples suspect’s were taken into custody and arrested. The city is safer thanks to these officers proactive policing.

Good morning, Sgt Terrazas here. Today I will be at Holy Family Church hosting “Convo with a Cop” as pat of LAPD’s participation in Faith in Blue Weekend…..what is Faith in Blue you may ask…..well, Faith & Blue is based on the premise that strong communities are built through mutual respect and understanding. Law enforcement and faith institutions are key pillars of each community, and when they work together, neighborhoods thrive. So come on by and let’s have a chat about anything and everything……hope you come by. I will be here from 7am to 2pm. Fun fact about me….I grew up in Wilmington just a few blocks away from Holy Family Church and attended Holy Family Elementary School back in the 80’s. I graduated from the Elementary School in 1992. I was also an alter boy at Holy Family Church while attending the school. I feel privileged to be able to “protect and serve” in the community I grew up in. taken in Holy Family Church by @lapdharb05

East Wilmington Community, your SLO was burning the Midnight Oil again till 430am this morning!!!! I was able to locate and arrest 2 suspects wanted on multiple Robbery Charges of our local business in Wilmington and San Pedro area. The gun that was used in the Robberies was also recovered at scene. I want to thank the troops for always responding with urgency to my backup request. Suspects you don’t go around terrorizing my local business owners and think I will not hunt you down.!!!

Officer Garcia and Officer Pineda were conducting high visibility patrol due to the increase in e-bike complaints. They observed a e-bike a make unsafe turn with its lights off.

Officers activate their lights and sirens to conduct a stop when the suspect gave them a “I’m busted” look. The suspect immediately bails off the e-bike and takes off running. Officers were able to easily catch the suspect in the back of a motel. From a backpack the suspect was wearing officers recovered fentanyl, ecstasy and crystal methamphetamine.

These officers definitely saved a couple thousand people from losing their lives to drugs. Hats off to these proactive officers.

Public safety is our priority…

Officers Lima and Garcia observed a vehicle committing a vehicle code violation and conducted a traffic stop. Later they found out the driver was on probation and the passenger kept trying to hide a bag out of sight.

Both occupants were detained and officers recovered a firearm and controlled substance from a vehicle search.

One suspect was placed under arrest and spending some time in jail. The other two received tickets. Great work officers.
