WE ARE NOT NORMAL.
AND WE DON’T WANT TO BE.

We’re not here to teach the usual way of thinking, living or doing things.

At La Penja goes Bäk To Skuul, we learn to question the ordinary — and explore different ways of thinking, creating, connecting and building our world. Without forgetting the history of this 100 years old school.

And yes, we’re going to rave.
Because rave culture can teach us a lot: freedom, self-expression, respect, community, presence, creativity and the courage to be yourself.

Welcome to Reivikoulu — the School of Rave.
Collect your Reivikoulupassi, visit La Penja & Bäk To Skuul events, take part in the lessons, dance, learn and collect stamps along the way. In the end you will receive a diploma 🤓

We believe that the values we share through art, rave culture, community and radical creativity can help build a better world.

"Different" is not a problem.
"Different" is the lesson.

✨ Learn differently. Live differently. Rave differently. 💃

That moment, when you arrive into the point, where you have created a concept full of your own art, decos, DJ sets, presence and basically everything. It's amazing. We never say a good word about ourselves and we concentrate on mistakes, things we haven't done... but f*ck sake I'm proud of myself and I wanna say it. And I want to courage everybody else; DO WHAT YOU WANT. Because it doesn't take energy. It doesn't depress you - expression is the opposite of depression. You don't get older while you do what you love. It gives you energy and it makes you stop constantly questioning your own skills.

If i made it... without money, without company, with all of that narcissism around, as a depressed person (all of this in the beginning of this path) and with a child to care about. Why couldn't you? Why you care about what people says? There are probably many, who doesn't like what i do, they think that I'm too much this and that. But I don't care, sorry. If you don't like me, you know where the door is. But clearly there are the right people, who seems to like it very much and that's enough for me. I want to SHARE it all. Because as shared - the joy is double and the sadness is half.

And the most important thing is; I'm not perfect, but i like what i do and I do it with all my soul. And I believe that it's the biggest protest against badness, and it will change the world.

At La Penja Natura (4th year of events) i felt it. I have done a brilliant job of organizing 30 artists in the middle of the forest. In the middle of the world actually. And well organised means half done. When everybody arrived, the magic started to live. The energy in these events is incredible. It's unique. And I'm so happy i get to live in the place, where this magic happens. So it kinda never ends.

When your energy is in the right thing, path and place, it allows you to get everything infront of you. You will get what you ask for. It's crazy how the universe listens.
I still want to thank all the people this universe has dropped into my life. Thank you for existing and sharing this beauty 🪷💕🎉💃

OLD SCHOOL. NEW DIMENSION. 🛸🎒

What happens when you turn an old village school into your personal playground?
@lapenja_art is hosting Matrix party this November at Maaninka, Finland.

Meet our host and chief wizard: @estercolass 🎨⚡️
She’s the powerhouse behind La Penja. She is whipping up wild UV art, throwing paint on canvases like magic, and hopping behind the decks to drop killer tunes.
Stepping into her home feels like entering a parallel world where school is actually fun.
In this event, you can live paint decorations with us on the dancefloor!
Don't be late for class. 🔮✨ taken in Maaninka by @lapenja_art

First of all, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came to La Penja Natura, and to all the absolutely invaluable people who made it happen! It was incredible! 🪷💕

The weather was absolutely perfect, we had an amazing full moon, all the stages turned out fucking awesome, and we were surprised so many times that it brought tears to our eyes. The fire show by @siruflows was breathtaking, as was the @zikiwiki.cactus laser pointing into the forest, where it would sometimes spell out “La Penja”. I could make a list of every single beautiful thing everyone did, but this post probably wouldn’t be long enough for that.

Still, I want to give a special shoutout to all the workshop hosts — the workshops were incredibly popular, with lots of people joining almost every one of them. We received so much positive feedback about the content.

@mein_manu , everything you do for this is something I can't explain, how grateful I am that i found you. After I met you, La Penja started glowing and glows every time more and more. I love you 💕

DJs: you all played such beautiful music and put so much love and effort into your sets. ❤️

@seka_the_dj , thank you for being so passionately involved in all of this and for being such a reliable partner to work with. You helped an enormous amount with the preparations, guided people with such energy, and drove people around. 💕

@spsyge, @virpicolasante, @ridvetaliini, @mauriziocolasante and my child Livya, HUGE thank you for working in our community/family. Your support has no price 🪷

Chefs, oh my... what incredible food you made!
Decorators, absolutely amazing work. I love how beautifully all our creations come together, and how energetic and dedicated you are. 🌟

Then there was so cool visuals, lights, techics, best quality soundsystems, artists of every kind, shops... thank for the workers of these sections as well!! 🎉

And the visitors: thank you for always coming back. And a huge tip of the hat to everyone new who bravely jumps into the unknown and somehow feels at home here so quickly. You are wonderful. 💕

Thank you again, everyone, and welcome back anytime! 😘
