Cancer is a real motherfucker. Lou Koller was an OG real one and one of the best to ever do it. This is so heartbreaking but what stands out are all the amazing stories and recollections people are posting. Lou and Sick of it All were such an incredible force of energy, sincerity and inspiration for so many generations of hardcore punk over the decades. Here’s my SOIA story, when Bad Brains released Quickness in 1989, they were my favorite band. They did some west coast shows supporting the new LP. Closest show to me as I was in AZ at the time was at the Country Club in Reseda on Sept 08 1989. Naturally I hit the road to LA. Also on the bill were SOIA and if I recall correctly Leeway. The show was great. Hung out with OC and LA friends. What stood out the most about the show was my intro to SOIA on their first west coast tour. I was blown away by the intensity, the moshy parts and their insane energy. Went to the show to see bad brains, returned home a Sick of it All fan for life.
