‼️Update‼️ L8 night only this week starting at 9pm‼️. We’re bringing back Sunday Late Nights!

Last year @metlapil turned che; into a weekly hang with dinner, late-night snacks, karaoke, and a whole lot of folks who didn’t want the weekend to end.

Dinner. Drinks. Karaoke. Industry folks extending their shift drinks at our place. Friends bringing friends. People hanging around way later than they meant to.

We’re keeping that vibe alive with Summer Sundays at che;
A rotating lineup of chefs serving dinner from 6–9, followed by late-night snacks, drinks, and karaoke starting at 10.
Kicking things off with our friends @nosabopdx on July 12th (and ever other Sunday thru the summer)
Come for dinner. Stay for karaoke. Or just show up whenever.
Everyone’s invited. #SummerSundaysAtChe

Tell your story ✨

I love helping others share their story. This year, I am committed to telling more of mine. My friends at @che.pdx are helping me turn back time and do my first public book reading and signing for @sidetracked_thebook that I published in 2020 during the pandemic. If you’re interested in joining, I’d love to see you there. All are welcome.

We’ll have yummy refreshments for you and I’ll be sharing excerpts from the book I started writing nearly 8 years ago and the impact it’s had on my life today. Getting the opportunity to share an honest and intimate life moment of rebuilding, in a room of folks it led me to, is pretty special.

@sidetracked_thebook is 100 days of journaling during a time of transition and healing. I had no idea it would later become my first book and set me on a path to really start ALIST. It will be a beautiful night at a sweet little spot in Portland.

Telling our stories is so important and I’m honoring that in celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month. It is never too late to start again 🦋

After lots of feedback from the community, this one is on a Sunday. Testing out doing events on the weekend.

My 1st Book Reading & Signing 📖

In the middle of a pandemic, I sent my first manuscript to be published on May 8, 2020. After a year and a half of writing and editing @sidetracked_thebook , it was done. But then the world shut down. Regardless, orders started shipping internationally on August 8, 2020. My “book signing” was done from my house via Instagram due to Covid. (Photo 1)☺️

Many of you know me for my work here, but do you know what preceded the Women Supporting Women (WSW) mindset? And do you know where ALIST really launched? Join me on Sunday, 5/17 and listen in as I share the moment everything shifted 🦋

My friend and owner of @che.pdx and @laportenapdx , Jessica Causey Viciconte, is helping me host my first public book reading. Seating is limited in this intimate setting. Swipe left to see this beautiful space. All proceeds go to women founders💞

May 17, 2026

This Friday, April 17… Oyster Social is coming in hot 🦪🔥

We’re talking cold, briny oysters, ice-cold beer, and a full-on flavor free-for-all.

Pop Oysters PDX is back on the knives, shucking pristine little ocean gems starting at $3 each. Or level up—half dozen, dozen—save a few bucks and buy more hot sauce to take home!

But this one? Not your standard issue Oyster Social.

We brought the sauce squad:
@tortuga_gordo
@habsauce
@spicymarshall (fresh to the lineup)

Plus a late-game power move from @laportenapdx with chimichurri 🌿—bright, garlicky, herby, and dangerously good on an oyster.

Here’s the play:
Load up an oyster → hit it with sauce → dial in your perfect combo → repeat aggressively.

Everything is there to sample, and when you find “the one,” grab a bottle to take home and keep the party rolling.

Citrus snap. Smoky depth. Herb bomb. Face-melting chaos. Choose your fighter.

Cold beer flowing. Oysters on ice. Tables full of bold decisions.

No tickets. No reservations. Just show up hungry—and maybe a little reckless.

Friday • 4–7pm (or until we’re out)

We grilled this Coulotte (aka Picanha) to 130°F and topped it with “Mom’s Green” Chimichurri from our neighbors at La Porteña. 🌿🇦🇷

Their authentic Argentine chimichurri cuts right through the rich fat cap of our Picanha. Simple, fresh, and unbeatable. 🔥🥩

Meet Sasha from @laportenapdx ! La Porteña is a Latina-owned, Portland-based business that sells chimichurri and seasonal empanadas (during the winter) using locally sourced ingredients.

In addition to selling at the Vancouver Farmers Market, they sell at the PSU Market and some local grocery stores and co-ops like Basics Market, A Market of Choice, and New Seasons.

Come downtown on Saturdays to say hi to Sasha and stock up on their delicious chimichurri, a taste of Argentina right here in Vancouver.

One of the best parts of living in Portland is the way people come together and provide for each other. That’s the real basis for lasting safety: knowing that the community has your back.

Human Centric Media’s friend and colleague, Jessica (@jesslynnheilman) at the Center for Women’s Leadership (@centerwomensleadership) first alerted us to Soup Night, a new event series produced by the delicious union of Chef Jami Cakes (@msjamicakes), Kitchen Table Magazine (@kitchentablemag), Hungry Heart Bakery (@hungryheartpdx) and the Northeast Portland event venue Che; (@che.pdx).

Together they deployed a winning recipe: local farmers provided fresh produce, Jami made two delicious soups (minestrone and cream of cauliflower), and guests were invited to dine together, with all the proceeds and excess soup being distributed throughout the community by the nonprofit Growing Gardens (@growinggardenspdx).

La Porteña (@laportenapdx) also provided delicious chimichurri to put on top.

There may be plenty of work left to do but all year I’ve seen glimpses of what this city can be in nights like this: warm-hearted people coming together with curiosity and mutual interest, creating a support system that didn’t exist before.

We broke bread, got to know each other and talked about our shared values, namely that ICE has no place in our community and that their organized terrorism is cruel and unamerican.

This wave will pass and our city will emerge stronger because no matter how much damage they cause, they cannot take away our compassion or our values.

I’m so glad that Human Centric Media got to document these gorgeous moments, shared between colleagues and neighbors, their bellies and hearts both full and glowing.

We’re so excited to finally get the word out about what an absolutely beautiful evening we’ve got planned.

SOUP NIGHT: There’s No ICE in This Soup

December 16, 2025 • Portland, OR

Everyone is invited to Soup Night on Tuesday, December 16th, a community gathering centered around soup, bread, fresh-baked cookies, conversation, and care. From 5–8pm at Che (920 NE Glisan), chefs, farmers, makers, and local businesses are joining forces to support immigrant families and community members pushed into poverty or food insecurity, especially as safety-net resources remain uncertain.

Soup Night is built on a simple idea: sharing a bowl of soup is an act of solidarity and the belief that everyone deserves to be fed and safe. For $20, guests enjoy a hearty, community-made meal—and that same purchase also provides a meal for someone experiencing food insecurity.
All food and funds from the event will be donated through @growinggardenspdx , who will distribute meals and resources directly to community members in need.

Beer, @landmasswines , and cocktails with support from local producers will be available, with 100%  beverage proceeds also supporting the effort.

Special thanks to @laportenapdx @che.pdx @llenapdx @msjamicakes @growinggardenspdx @grandcentralbakery @hungryheartpdx @kitchentablemag @fiddleheadfarmer @vebrewing @gingercultgingerbeer @sillygoosefarmspdx @empowered.flowers @wildrootsfarmers for donating space, time, food, beverage, and so much more.

And a special thanks to @elnations @_designkat for this beautiful illustration!

We hope to see you all there. Ticket link in profile!
