Healthier living can start with where and how we live.

For Lisa, returning to Sydney and living by the water became the first part of her reset. She could spend more time outside, more time sailing, with a stronger connection to the sea and all with a slower rhythm after years in New York.

It’s becoming increasingly apparent how much our environment can shape everyday wellbeing, and for Lisa, being closer to nature has been transformative.

In the next part, she shares the deeper changes she made after diagnosis, telling us about the products she uses on her skin and the total plastic detox she has taken, all towards creating a healthier home.

Lisa Seiffert’s life is shaped by fashion, travel, creativity and the sea. It was her breast cancer diagnosis that really transformed her life.

After 26 years modelling in New York, Lisa retuned to Sydney and has found life in Sydney moves at a different pace. She is closer to the water, with more time outdoors. She uses fewer products, more natural personal care and has literally removed plastic in the house.

Lisa has never been someone to choose the easy route. A seasoned sailor, she has completed the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race two times with her father and brother-in-law. The first was four weeks after BC surgery. An incredible accomplishment and a good indication of her immense courage, resilience and appetite for life.
Her experience with cancer also lead her to create Art for Healing currently at The Royal Hospital for Women. Inspired by the stark treatment rooms she encountered herself, Lisa developed the program to bring art into clinical spaces and create moments of colour, comfort and connection for patients, families and staff. The initiative has since attracted support from iconic Australian artists and galleries, including most recently Tim Olsen and Olsen Gallery.

Lisa’s reset is about healthier everyday living, but also about living fully: choosing more carefully, reducing unnecessary plastic, spending more time in nature, in the salt water and using her own experience to make things better for someone else.
Health, purpose, courage and a calmer life lived.

LA PUNK brings that thinking to personal care. Our products are designed as objects to live with: sculptural, refillable and made to be kept, rather than packaging designed to disappear.

This week’s 60 Minutes investigation into plastics brought an issue we think about constantly at LA PUNK into sharper focus: plastic isn’t only a waste problem. It can also be a source of microplastics and plastic-associated chemicals that enter our everyday environment, including through food packaging and personal care products.

Personal care is built around repetition, the products we use every morning, carry in our bags and replace again and again. And much of that packaging is small, mixed-material and difficult to recycle through ordinary recycling.

That’s why plastic and waste are part of the RESET INDEX - and part of why LA PUNK was created.

We wanted to think beyond “recyclable” and ask a different question: can we avoid replacing the whole object at all? Can we go back to refilling? To using packaging materials that are healthier for us and our planet.

We believe product design should consider what touches us, what surrounds us, and what gets left behind.

Loving the response to last weekend’s Reset Family. It seems we’re not the only ones dreaming of an outdoor shower!

For Julz and Jonny, the reset was not just rebuilding the house, it was fundamentally changing the way they wanted to live in it.

Back living in Sydney and by the sea, life became more about their natural, local environment and ultimately more relaxed.

Their outdoor shower is now one of the most-loved parts of the home.

That is exactly the kind of reset we love at LA PUNK: when one simple change becomes part of everyday life. And makes us feel healthier and better too.

What does it look like to completely rebuild a home without wasting what was already there?

For Julz and Jonny, their Bondi home reset meant reusing original bricks and materials, doubling the solar and insulation, and designing around natural light, airflow and everyday comfort.

A healthier, lower-waste home but without starting from zero.

What if your home gave you more energy, more time outside and less stress?

That’s what Julz and Jonny created with the reset of their Bondi home.

More natural light and better airflow. More time spent outside. An outdoor shower that turns something everyday into a daily reset.

By designing the house around light, air and a stronger connection to the outdoors, they’ve created a home that doesn’t just use less energy, it gives them more energy too.

They also made conscious material choices throughout the build, using real wood, natural stone and removing plastic wherever possible. The result feels calmer, more tactile and more connected to nature.

And perhaps that’s the real outcome of a healthier home: less stress, more time outside, more natural materials and a home that supports the way you want to live.
