My Morning ☕️

At what age do you think kids should be “somewhat” self-sufficient?

I have a 5-year-old and an almost 8-year-old. For the most part, they’re pretty good—especially with their evening routines—but our mornings get the best of me! 😂

For those with girls, do you feel like mornings are smoother? Or is this just a kids in general thing? 😂

Parents, how much time do you give yourself in the morning to get dressed, have your coffee, get yourself together, etc. before waking the kids?

This past weekend was all about celebrating Big Jay! 🕷️🎉 We kicked off his 5th birthday at Thrillz and wrapped up the weekend with a movie date to see the new Spider-Man movie. Nothing beats making memories with my birthday boy. 💙 Happy 5th Birthday, Big Jay from the A! Here’s to another year of adventures, laughter, and big dreams! 🎂🎈. Come with me on my first (and LAST 🤣) Peachtree Road Race!

Whew, chile… I went through every emotion possible this morning. 🙄😢🥹😡😴😣😂. And so many thoughts 💭. Will I be skinny after I complete this? What will I eat afterwards? Why did I sign up and PAY MY money for this? Do people really enjoy this???? 💭💭💭

Right before Cardiac Hill, Jayden FaceTimed me saying his iPad didn’t have Wi-Fi… but sir, you’re literally FaceTiming me. 🤔😂

Then my knees and shins tried to come for me!! Thankfully, my niece called around Mile 4.5, and I stayed on the phone with her and my sister all the way to the finish line. They talked me through it❤️.

And then… my shady Apple Watch had the audacity to congratulate me with, “You just completed your fastest 10K!” 😒 Umm… Ms. Ma’am… this was my FIRST 10K! Of course it was my fastest! 😂😂

But you know what? I DID IT!! 🎉🏅

Now I’m home, showered, and all I need is a good plate and an even better drink. I’ve earned both! 🍽️🍹

Happy 45th Birthday Righteous!! 🥳 The Aunties and Uncles definitely came out to play last Friday! It took me the entire weekend to recover 🥴 but a TIME was had 😂❤️
