It's conversations like this that make me so enthralled with our design community. From movements in stone and compelling quarries to AI and bettering collaborations, hearing from so many different viewpoints on hot topics during our (literal) fireside/roundtable talk was both enriching and refreshing. Thank you @stratussurfacesaustin and everyone who joined!

Step inside designer Benjamin Johnston’s world. On the latest episode of the LUXE Connect Podcast, Johnston joins Texas Homes Editor Lara Hallock to discuss how his own home became a testing ground for new ideas, the stone and material applications clients are asking for most, and the entrepreneurial spirit driving Houston’s design scene.

They also explore Johnston’s approach to kitchens, favorite finishing touches, and the projects featured in a special new edition of LUXE Interiors + Design magazine.

More big news! Did you know @luxemagazine launched our first podcast? My first episode, exploring an ultimately personalized Houston home with the amazing @marieflaniganinteriors, is out now! We touch on the fabulous character of the rich and textured home that graces our Houston May/June cover and how its expression relates to the unique tapestry of the Houston design scene.

I was so honored to interview Marie as our first Texas guest! A pillar of the Houston design scene, she exudes insight and a knack for making spaces feel elegant and authentic with a seemingly effortless harmony - a balance that can only result from a high level of vision and precision. This home, featuring architecture by @dillonkylearchitects, is no exception.

For this and more wonderful episodes to come as our "sisterhood of the traveling mic" tours the country (and to listen to our inaugural and inspirational California content care of @maryjbowling), subscribe and listen to the LUXE CONNECT Podcast on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or @surroundpodcastnetwork! by @lara.hallock

BIG NEWS! I've officially taken over as Arizona editor at @luxemagazine (in addition to my post as Texas editor). So excited to share all the amazing inspiration coming out of the Grand Canyon State, where stellar design, iconic landscapes and elevated wellness lifestyle converge to create some of the best resort-like homes out there.

If you are an architect, interior designer, home builder, landscape architect, or other industry pro in Arizona, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm on the hunt for the top talent and hottest homes to publish, and always more than happy to help guide your editorial journey along the way. Let's go, AZ!!

Also, how beautiful is our latest May/June cover?? Featuring landscape architecture by @janiceparkerjpla and photography by @lauramossphotography 🔥🔥 by @lara.hallock

A few highlights from the beautiful lake’s edge home by @christinacruzinteriors gracing @luxemagazine’s Austin cover this month! Aside from the bath’s marble that’s vein-matched to mimic the waterline outside (which secured a permanent space in my mind), one delight was how many fellow editors amped at the words “Lord of the Rinds-inspired reading nook” 😭😭💚💚
