⛩️ Finally posting my sculptures created for my Master’s project called “The Shrine of Yōkai”. In this project, I created a fictional shrine environment inside Unreal Engine 5, where you can interact with the yōkai sculptures and find out more about their lore and mythology through custom-made cards using the engine’s widget blueprint system.

The whole project took a long time and I couldn’t spend too much time on the individual characters, especially when wanting to make things interactive, but I’m still very pleased with the end result. I learned a lot about working in UE5 and blueprints. Safe to say my creative energy got completely drained 🥲

Working on this little guy was quite the comfort project, and I ended up with 3 versions: a clay ver. in Blender, a moss-covered one used in engine, and one more without the moss, just because.🌚🍀

Jizō (地蔵) inspired environment project done in UE5.

These adorable statues are common stone figures in Japan depicting a guardian deity who protects travelers and souls in the afterlife, especially children who died young.

The Jizō statue was sculpted in ZBrush and textured in Substance Painter. More coming soon.
