Celebrating a beautiful 12 years in the industry as an actress

Absolutely in love with what I do and so incredibly grateful for each and every person along the way.

Here’s to many more to come! taken in Johannesburg by @larebirk

I recently had the opportunity to play one of the coolest characters of my career so far… with a whole lot of on-set firsts along the way.

It was fun, challenging, and creatively so fulfilling… but what stayed with me most wasn’t just the work itself, it was the people.

There’s something incredibly special about being surrounded by people who genuinely want to be there… people who care deeply about telling a story well, pushing for excellence, and creating something beautiful together.

This experience reminded me why I fell in love with acting and filmmaking in the first place, and being part of a set filled with that kind of passion was truly inspiring.

I can’t wait for everyone to see this film.

And trust me… keep an eye on this team of filmmakers. They absolutely have what it takes.

When someone leaves, they arrive somewhere soon

My irreplaceable mother has left us. But we know, where she has arrived, everything is as she would’ve wanted it

I do not believe there are adequate words to describe my mother.
She was so many things - daughter, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, mother to others and friend - and in all of that she made a deep impact that will keep her with us for as long as we will know

I will never know a love like hers again… that I know for sure…
But because of her, we can give that same love to others

And that… that was my mother

Thank you to you all!

Set life
Sometimes you stand in some random field, on some random road… with a random film prop windbuks…
and people you love and enjoy
Then its more than just set life

Its a beautiful and enriching experience

The power of You
for Nathan Schoof | by Laré Birk

For my heart doubted,
apprehensive,
to know
That upon an unknown time
For me, there is bestowed
Within an alluring smile, within beauteous eyes
The one
that is my only
and truly
mine

For when there is darkness, where a warm glow of sun was supposed to shine
You bring me my light, my summer, my growth, my perpetual joyous tide
For when there is fear, driven by what was, ignited by what could’ve been, by the thoughts of my mechanic mind
You bring me a peace, a quiet, a forgiveness that extinguish and adrift those senseless and viciously wild

For when I feel heavy, embodied in my shaken quintessence
You lift me with a soft countenance, a kindliness never encountered
And when I feel unloved by the worries and untruths created by my own insecure presence
You teach me
Again
That that too, is not
Has ever been
And never will be
again

My heart now knows
What few ever will
The wonder that you are, my answer
the incomprehensible thrill
And I rejoice in the freedom of your rhythm
The euphoria of your love
And I am gratefully in your presence. Your extraordinaire. Your enough

I, my love, for I am fulfilled.

By
Your you
My you

And yes,
Forever and always
Only you
