I love driving. When I first got my @honda from my sister, her name was Phoenix. I renamed her Cherry Girl.

After 6 years with me now, we’ve been through so much together. This car is now named CARPOOL, In reference to DEADPOOL. Color, black trim and one black rearview mirror when I couldn’t afford to replace it with the camera… SO FUCKING TOUGH JUST LIKE ME. 🚗

Last month I was hit and run with the person laughing as they drove away. I know they don’t care that they put me and Burger in danger, but what bothers me on top of that is that that shook my confidence in driving.

I am a known dilly dallier as much as I am a work force of nature. I get around all over town as quickly and swiftly as possible because of my HONDA FIT.
Other things happened to this car this year and it hurts me to relive the damage each time I see the scrapes and dents in it.

Living in LA is hard because so many things are pricey, people will hit and run to avoid dealing with it, they will box your car into a space so they can get out but you can’t.

Since that hit and run, I’ve been asking for my friends and fam for rides because more often than not I’m scared to drive and be hit and run again. :(

It has rewired my brain to be more intentional with driving. I now ask myself: “can l drive right now? do I have to right now, or is this something I can prioritize later??”

When I do get in the car and I see: a car drifting into my lane, someone cutting me off without signaling, seeing someone on their phone, drunk driving, road rage etc. I tense up feel a strong pull to go home to my covered garage where it’s safe and people won’t hurt me with their lack of regard for others.

That being said, for the month of OCTOBER I will be using @hotplate to open up SNACKSBY HQ 2-4 nights a week for: contactless pick up, drive by pick ups where I personally run your order out or delivery through third party! This way I mitigate some risk I take by trying to load up my car and get to the location as fast as possible. If you’ve made it this far, I really appreciate the time and attention you’ve given me. The only focus for those who have unfortunately & fortunately survived abuse in any form, at any rate, and any time is to find joy and peace where you can.

The fight for it is so hard because the trauma sustained will convince you that you might not regain any degree of happiness because of what happened. Chances are you will never fully forget the moment that changed you.
My brain as a child buried memories deep down to be uncovered when I was more equipped to deal with it, which is now. As sad as it is, not acknowledging but knowing deep down was killing me from inside.

When I speak on my past abuses, I actively have to move past the idea that some will:
1) not believe me
2) believe that I am sensationalizing my experience
3) not care
4) ask me why I didn’t say anything sooner
5) ask me why I stayed
6) ask me what I was wearing
7) position their experience to invalidate mine

Abusers benefit from silence, victim blaming, and suspension of disbelief that they are terrible. Empaths are easy prey at a first sight, because they often consider others when moving through life.

When you think about power, the most powerful people don’t stop to consider they have it versus powerless people who will do whatever it takes to prove to other people that they have it.

When you live and embody your truth, you consistently lay down the ground you stand on without question. I wish everyone believed that, it’s one of the best parts of being human: the ability to believe and understand that you can probably do anything you want to if you try.
We are all fallible. Many times corrupt outside forces exist to steer us away from realizing our power individually and collectively because they are scared of it. Again, people who crave power that they don’t believe they have and think they need more are willing to work so hard to take away from others. If we all collectively believed we could focus on ourselves and others; we wouldn’t feel competitive against one another. Weak minds have decided to use these cruel tactics to gain an upper hand at the cost to others. It’s a facade.

It’s not too late to fight for our peace.
