The goal was around 620 and this is 22 lbs over my best. Mission accomplished. I likely had 628 in me but I didn’t know 622 was gonna move like that.

Goal was just to salvage what we could since switching to close grip full time a couple months ago. I lost tightness on my second which is why my left arm lagged, which caused me to only go up 2.5kg for my third but my third moved better than my second. I probably could of grinded out 363 but who knows. Either way it’s not far off my meet best and it’s close grip so I’ll take it.

The goal was to total enough to beat my old total and to take the drug tested Louisiana state total record. I went with a 650 pull to secure not only the total record but to chip my own state deadlift record, but I had to come back and take a crack at 300kgs because I knew it was there and I’ve been chasing it for awhile! They tried talking me into pulling more but I stayed composed and didn’t get greedy. I must have listened to this song 80 times yesterday, I knew I wouldn’t fail me!

Will I ever squat 600+ pounds ever again? I don’t know, but what I do know is I’ll keep trying, and God willing I’ll get there, and if not that’s cool too. by @largebarbell

I ain’t as good as I once was, but I was good once, as I ever was. Thank God for a body that can still push.
