I am happy to announce that after nearly 10 months of work... The Séance is now officially done!

As I sit back and think about transferring the project folder into storage, it makes me remember all of the work that went into this project. The several late filming nights, numerous 3 hour trips to Watseka to film an interview or scout the locations, and many random phone calls with Neal so I could talk through a last minute change or add a missing detail. I think in total editing time, I have well over 100 hours and kind of stopped keeping track after hitting triple digits.

Overall, I think i have around 23 projects under my belt with 18 episodes of Expedition Entity making up the majority of that, but i think The Séance is my best work yet. I look forward to the feedback from film critics as we move forward with our film festival plans and of course the feedback from all of you. Our in-person screening will be held on October 12th (event details to come soon) but I have no idea when this will be available on a streaming platform. We want to give this the best possible chance at film festivals, which means we have to go through that first before premiering anywhere else online as major festivals want to be the ones who premiere the best projects. There are some people I'll be sending the screener to for feedback, but most of you will have to wait until October or likely next year 🫶 taken in The Roff House by @larryeissleriii

Gotham was never just a city to me from a movie, it has deep meaning for me, of home, where my darkness, power, & the extraordinary coexist. A symbolic map..
Or I wouldn't have a full tattooed sleeve on my left arm..
They represent my villains, my darkest moments.
R.I. Illinois felt like stepping into Gotham.
The Falcones & the Maronis, alliances, betrayals, unspoken arrangements between rival empires.. The Irish underworld, the Italian mob, the liquor, the brothels, the women who ruled behind closed doors while the men fought for territory..
During the séance, I kept reaching for my fur coat repetitively. Something about the atmosphere, the history, the character I seemed to embody felt strangely familiar & powerful..
Sophia falcone is someone who draws me & all I could feel was her 'vibe'. For a moment, I understood the appeal of Sophia Falcone, not the violence, but the presence of a woman who walks into a room & doesn't need permission to occupy it. They call 'her' Helen, the woman known as the Queen of the Underworld... I call her Helena.
Ironically.. my work takes me into the underworld, too, not the criminal empire, (well sometimes), but the threshold between the living & the dead.
Two years ago, the first vision began. By the time we reached Rock Island, the threads were already there. The visions, history, connections. One case leading into another until the case becomes something far more personal than anyone could have anticipated.. if you only knew.
But one person does & beside me through it all was my best friend, my other half in this work, the Queen of Darkness. 🖤
Toward the end of this week, something happened that I am not ready to discuss. I saw things I never intended & experienced things I still cannot fully explain. For a moment, I genuinely believed I had lost my best friend forever.
There are moments when both spaces blend and it becomes part of our reality, & in those moments, anything is possible. You never imagine you might have to say goodbye under circumstances you cannot comprehend.
@adream_withinascream thank you for taking a chance with me, & stepping into the dark.

& I have officially departed the timeline embedded within Rock Island, Illinois, the Roadhouse, the surrounding land, & everything imprinted upon it, and now I’m making the long journey back to the other timeline, the one drifting somewhere between here, there, & you, back toward The Hive. Please be patient with me as I transition between these places & process everything these past several days have revealed. I arrived Thursday.. what unfolded between then & now has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. I am deeply grateful to Natalie at PARAFlixx, Sarah, Kandi, & Lisa, the owner of the Roadhouse, for seeing the vision, trusting my work, & opening those doors to me. & to Larry & Shannon, thank you for experiencing the deeper, more intimate layers of this journey beside me. What we shared is something I will never forget. Rock Island called me years ago, long before I understood why, & somehow that call has continued unfolding into something far greater than I imagined, intertwining with the stories of women whose voices were taken from them & whose histories deserve to be remembered. Something happened shortly before 5 a.m. that I am still trying to understand, and for the first time in this work, I experienced a fear I cannot fully explain. I don't yet know where that moment belongs, but I know what comes next: the research, the history, the records, & the documentation. I will investigate every thread, follow every connection, & prove whatever can be proven. I am still processing what Rock Island revealed, & somehow I don't believe I am finished there yet..
For now, I’m heading home to The Hive, carrying far more with me than I left with.
🕳️
One thing I will leave you with though....
When you experience visions that are so real as if you're actually living it, it stays in your body forever, it becomes part of your own trauma your own mind your own memory your own being, you know it's not yours, but it's still impacts you emotionally and it is something that is so hard to understand, unless you've lived it.
I will never forget the voices of Rock Island.

Last night was the accumulation of months of behind the scenes work to bring a 30 participant, 4 camera team documentary filming together with a 2 hour midnight seance thrown in at the end. But it would never have been possible without the help and support of Natalie Jones keeping things going behind the scenes and making sure everyone was taken care of so we could focus on getting the work done. She's the producer and backbone of this documentary and definitely earned that credit and praise for everything that she did.

Itll be a long time before this one is ready, but I cant wait to start getting into this footage and find the moments the guests were telling us about. The Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse didn't disappoint last night and now we're going to work hard to show her off.

Oh, and I hope you enjoy the light box! taken in Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse by @larryeissleriii
