A few of our favourite moments from Nuit Blanche Napier 2026 🫶

Local artists and creatives got their moment in the spotlight, hospo pulled some of their biggest nights on record, and the city became one giant canvas.

Music spilling into the streets, dancers taking over corners, circus overhead, projections lighting up buildings and artworks waiting to be discovered. There was always something happening, and often something you didn’t see coming.

The CBD was full of people taking it all in. Kids were racing between things to see, mates were catching up over dinner, people stopped for a dance, and others were surprised and excited to see what was around the next corner.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out despite the weather and made the night what it was.

A special shoutout to Sight Sound Services for getting the PA and stages set up and ready to go on such a challenging day - massive work crew 🙌

Market Street is getting a serious after-dark makeover. Lasers will light up the laneway while two DJs bring the soundtrack, with the music shifting gears as the night goes on.

🔦 6–10pm | Laser Show
Keep your eyes up. The laneway will be lit with lasers throughout the evening, adding a whole new look to this little corner of the city.

🎧 6–8pm | Larry Nobody
Larry Nobody gets things moving with deep, groove-driven house music. He’s been DJing clubs, festivals and events in New Zealand and overseas for years, building sets that evolve with the crowd rather than sticking to the same formula.

🎶 8.15–10pm | DJ Morgz
Then DJ Morgz takes over with Tech House, Top 40 remixes and big singalong tracks. He’s been behind the decks for more than a decade and knows how to put together a set that gets people involved.

Head down the laneway, follow the lights and see what’s happening.

I've never really called myself an artist. For some reason its never felt right. Anyways, here we are...I'm an artist. Call it what you like. Whatever, it doesn't matter, because nothing means anything.

We spend a lot of our lives trying to make sense of things. Looking for patterns, reading signs, finding meaning in what we see.

Inspired by the simplicity of Suprematism, this series explores how basic forms can carry unexpected presence.

A circle, a line, a square, chosen not for what they mean, but for how they make you feel.

Some feel strong. Some balanced. Some uncomfortable. Some almost familiar. Together they begin to look like a language we should somehow understand.

Maybe you find a pattern. Maybe a story. Maybe something you can’t quite explain.

Or maybe nothing means anything.

Larry Nobody is bringing the deeper side of house to the Market Street Laneway, with deep grooves, driving rhythms and a set that keeps evolving as the night moves on.

He’s been behind the decks at clubs, festivals and events across New Zealand and internationally, always digging for new music and building his sets around the crowd and the moment.

For Nuit Blanche, he’s taking you on a deeper house journey, building the groove and letting the music do the work.

I've been working on some new things that bring to life something that has only lived in my head for so long.

This work captures my passion for a simple and elegant approach to art. The series is inspired by the suprematism movement of the early 20th century where shapes, lines and geometry come together to create a visual cohesion and unique output.

The art is a mixed medium of, acrylic paint, ink, posca and pencil, hand drawn on canvas. My idea is to create pieces that bring together visual art and objects of desire, using details in the frame and hanging to bring other points of interest.

This is just a sneak peak of a 3 pieces series coming to a gallery near you soon. Watch this space.
