Larry Poons has spent more than six decades pushing painting beyond structure and predictability. Emerging in 1960s New York with his celebrated dot paintings, Poons gradually abandoned geometric precision for a far more physical and intuitive approach to abstraction. His later works are built through layers of poured, splashed and accumulated pigment, creating dense surfaces where color seems to move continuously across the canvas.
