Luc Tuymans, photographed during the Preview Days of Manifesta 16 Ruhr in Bochum.

Few painters have shaped the way we look at images and question them as profoundly. His work remains restrained, precise and quietly unsettling.

The Belgian painters contribution is on display in the Kunstkirche Christ-König in Bochum among many other interesting positions.

Manifesta is still on show until October 4, 2026 in various former churches across Germany’s Ruhr region.

Twenty years. What a ride. Not always smooth, but never boring.

Still, every now and then, you have to step back, look closely, and ask what still feels true.
So apologies for my absence here, but over the past few months, I went through the archive, revisited old work, followed new directions, and rebuilt the way my photography is presented.

My new website is now live!

For the first time, it gives more space to personal series and visual essays — alongside commissioned work and two motion reels.

My agency portfolio has been fully updated as well @emeisdeubel so pls check out their website.

What stays at the center is simple: people, stories, travel, shared time, light, presence, and moments as they unfold.

At a time when images can be generated endlessly, photography feels even more essential to me. Not as invention, but as attention — and as a way of staying in touch at a time when real human connection feels more fragile and important than ever.

Thanks to my loved ones and everyone who has taught, commissioned, supported, followed, trusted, and shared a part of the road with me.

Everytime I'm in Munich I find myself drawn back to the Eisbach. There is something magical about that place. Here are a few images of the iconic women and men riding that wave during my last visit this September. Truly hoping all will come back🤞🌊
