We are proud to welcome Lake Region Womxn Health and Equal Rights (LARWHER as a partner of Sister Darling 2026! ❤️

Based in the Lake Region, LARWHER is a community-based organisation working to advance the health, human rights, safety and dignity of womxn.

Through community-led advocacy, mental health and psychosocial support, access to inclusive healthcare, legal empowerment and protection initiatives, LARWHER works to address discrimination, challenge harmful social attitudes and create safer spaces where queer and gender-diverse communities can access the support and justice they deserve.

Their work also recognises the power of storytelling and creative advocacy in confronting gender-based violence and femicide, shifting public conversations and amplifying voices that are often excluded.

At Sister Darling, we believe that sisterhood must be rooted in solidarity, inclusion and the freedom for every woman to exist, express herself and live with dignity. LARWHER's work speaks to exactly that.

We are honoured to have them alongside us as we celebrate ARTIVISM and the women and communities using their voices, creativity and collective power to create change.

69 LOANS IN JUST 4 MONTHS! 🔥

Since launching our community-led Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) in July 2026, we have reached an incredible milestone. Just four months later, today, we are issuing our 69th loan to micro-entrepreneurs!

Legally registered as Ubuntu Prosperity Circle under Larwher's Economic Empowerment Program, we are demonstrating the power of community savings, collective responsibility, and access to affordable loans in transforming livelihoods.

A VSLA is more than a savings group. It is a pathway to financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and self-reliance. Every loan represents an opportunity to expand a small business, create income, support a family, and strengthen our local economy.

Financial independence is giving our community a new lease on life. Through Ubuntu Prosperity Circle, we are building more than businesses; we are building confidence, dignity, resilience, and a future where our community can thrive on its own terms.

When we save together, we grow together. When we invest in one another, we build collective prosperity.

Our LILO UP Cohort 1 entrepreneur and VSLA Revolving Fund Self-Help Group Chairperson, Awino, brought Okumba Naturals to the Fisherman’s Dala Experience—and she came to SELL! 🔥

Okumba Naturals offers organic herbal soaps, handmade home décor and scented candles, all crafted with love and creativity. 🕯️✨

Our Program Lead, who was also part of the Fisherman’s Dala Experience event organising team, caught up with Awino and asked the all-important question: “Did you get your Return on Investment?”

Awino’s response said it all:

“We did sell mamaa with dallaz! 😂 We SOLDDDDD! Demwit! Kwanza my handmade house décors sold like crazy!! Without bargain… not even a single person bargained!”

And the best part? She’s already planning her next move:

“Now I have to restock raw materials because people promised to order baadae, so I have to make sure mali zipo.”

THAT is economic empowerment in action. 🔥
Sales. Repeat customers. Restocking. Growth.

Support local. Buy from our entrepreneurs. Build the Pink Economy. 💗 by @larwher2021

At the Fisherman’s Dala Experience that took place on 3rd Oct, our LILO UP Economic Empowerment Cohort 1 entrepreneurs showed up, set up their stalls, and put their businesses on display. 🛍️✨

For @tuesday._the_great , the highlight was going home with empty pens—SOLD OUT! 🎉

This is what economic empowerment looks like: creating opportunities, supporting small businesses, and building an economy where our people can thrive. 💪🏾
