AI Meets Fashion in Eldoret! 👗

I had the incredible honor of being featured on @ntvkenya to speak about the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in Fashion Design — an opportunity made possible during the just concluded @kitengefashionfest Festival held on May 31st, 2025, right here in Eldoret!

Representing The Nunomol Hub (The New Normal Hub) in partnership with @the.cubehub Tech Innovation Academy as the Lead of AI & Automation, we were invited as stakeholders to explore how AI is reshaping the fashion industry — from trend prediction and sustainability to design personalization and digital creativity.

Key highlights on how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the fashion industry:

1. Generating new clothing designs through algorithms that analyze trends and consumer preferences.

2. Predicting fashion trends using data from social media, e-commerce platforms, and seasonal demand.

3. Enhancing sustainability by optimizing material usage and reducing waste in the design and production process.

4. Personalizing fashion by tailoring designs and recommendations to individual customer styles.

This wasn’t just a celebration of African fashion, but a milestone moment where technology and tradition merged, proving that Eldoret is ripe for innovation and future-forward industries.

Out of 50+ innovative applicants, our solution @maziwatele , developed under @the.cubehub , proudly emerged among the Top 20 finalists and was awarded on 12th June 2025.

This recognition not only fuels our commitment to revolutionize dairy value chains through practical tech solutions but also reinforces our vision of driving meaningful impact for communities across Kenya and beyond.

We did it again💃💃

We recently held our second webinar on Thriving August. A candid conversation on how parents can enjoy the adventure of raising adolescents, and understand their behavior as they support them through this important stage of life.

Our speaker @camilladhahabu described parenting adolescents as an adventure, not a crisis. She used the "plane" analogy: That Parents are the "pilots" and teens the "passengers" who cannot navigate this complex stage alone.

Carmilla proposed viewing parenting as entrepreneurship: a risky but fulfilling venture where you must win over your "customer" (teen).

She analyzed Five "adventures" parents can use to build connection:

✅ Attention: Affirm achievements and effort.
Why: Builds self-confidence and a sense of belonging.
Warning: Only giving attention for misbehavior can reinforce it.

✅Role Modeling: Be authentic and consistent.
Why: Teens emulate realness. This builds internal character, guiding them even when you're not present.

✅Contribution: Invite participation in family projects.
Why: Teens are capable assets (e.g., business ideas, tech help). This reduces parent burden and builds teen confidence.

✅Learning: Ask them to teach you about their world (tech, trends).
Why: Shows respect, builds connection, and makes you a trusted
resource.

✅Storytelling: Share your own adolescent stories.
Why: Makes you relatable and human.
Warning: Keep stories to your adolescent years; don't share adult burdens (e.g., marriage problems), as this overwhelms them and blurs the parent-child hierarchy.
