Official Statement from Las Calakas
September 15, 2026

We want to address a recent situation involving comments made online by a member of Las Calakas.
After speaking together as a band and taking the time to understand what happened, we believe the comments that were made were disrespectful, hurtful, and do not represent who we are or what Las Calakas stands for.
From the beginning, our music has been about bringing people together. We believe music should create community, not division, and we welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and walks of life. We cannot stand behind words or actions that go against those values.
As a result of these actions, this individual is no longer a member of Las Calakas. We believe our actions as a band must reflect the values we stand for, and we will continue to hold ourselves accountable to those values.
We understand that words have consequences and that this situation has affected people, relationships, and members of our community. To anyone who was hurt or disappointed by what happened, we sincerely apologize.
We are grateful to everyone who has supported Las Calakas throughout the years, the venues, artists, promoters, friends, family, and especially the people who come out to our shows and share these experiences with us.
We will learn from this, move forward, and continue doing our best to make Las Calakas something that brings people together.
Thank you for hearing us out and for continuing to hold us accountable to the values we represent.

Las Calakas brought all of the joy with their unique flavor of Cumbia-fusion to the Fairweather Social Club this past weekend. Stay tuned…. There’s so much more to come, and we’re already talking about the next time we can get these guys back. Looking forward as always… #prescott #fairweathersocialclub #nocoprescott #lascalakas #cumbia by @lascalakas
