🌎🏀 REPORT: Lilly Papazian (Campbell Hall, Class of 2028) and Amelie Cash (Eagle Rock, Class of 2028) have officially arrived in Peja, Kosovo to compete for U18 Armenia Women’s National Team in the @fiba European Division C Championship. 🇽🇰

📋🇦🇲 Lilly Papazian, a shifty guard with dual citizenship, is opening a new international chapter as her FIBA career officially begins tomorrow. Known for her sharp shooting and tenacious defensive identity, Papazian is eager to represent her ancestral homeland. The Campbell Hall guard was a vital piece of the Vikings last season and enjoyed a strong summer with @laselectgbb, helping LA Select earn a stripes at Adidas 3SGB competition, a @madehoops appearance, and an impressive showing during the @hypeherhoops Live Period in Sacramento.

🇦🇲🏀 Amelie Cash, the Eagle Rock High School guard/forward, has spent the past several months training meticulously with the Armenia Women’s National Team, Armenia U18, Armenia U16, and @laselectgbb in preparation for tournaments in Malta and Kosovo. Cash, too, has had a valuable summer at Select in HHH, Adidas 3SGB, MADE Hoops, and a strong overall presence in her pursuit to college basketball. With her U16 national team duties now complete, she turns her full attention to a new challenge in Kosovo.

💬 Coach Rich (@relmoyan), a former @armbasketballfederation athlete and current coach for Papazian and Cash at @laselectgbb, elaborates that “the two [Cash & Papazian] are exceptional additions to the U18 Armenia roster… both are motivated, prepared, and hungry to defend the flag on their jersey.” 🇦🇲

🏆 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣: LA Select 11U Girls captured the RYSE Hoops Summer Finale championship in Anaheim (July 18-19), putting together a complete team performance as they continue building momentum heading into Las Vegas (@rysehoops).

🎙️ Coach Rich (@relmoyan) reflected: “This tournament held strategic importance for us as we gear up for our Las Vegas tournament. This will mark our second year going as a group, and with our collective growth, I’m confident that we will come back with a positive outcome.”

The team executed the game plan from start to finish, showing tremendous growth in their development. Their improved spin moves, footwork, and unselfish teamwork were on full display, leading to an outstanding all-around team effort and a championship finish.

📈 10U Girls Warm-Ups consist of some fundamentals, led by @alex_megerdi

🔥 Warm-Ups in the video include competitive drills with a strong focus on making layups; footwork; and passing. These three concepts are incredibly integral for girls basketball development.

The Mechanics of the Tween-to-Float: Mastering Pace and Spatial Awareness ⚙️🏀

The between-the-legs (tween) to float dribble is an exercise in tempo management. It moves beyond simple ball-handling and into the realm of decision-making under pressure.

The Technical Progression:
1. Programming the Tempo: We start by neutralizing the attack, focusing on the float phase with the palm facing up. This “pause” at the apex is a tactical reset used to map the defender’s positioning — a strategic momentum stopper.

2. The Lifecycle of the Dribble: A dribble sequence consists of two distinct states: aggressive penetration and patient finesse. Understanding when to shift between these states is what separates high-level guards from the rest.

3. The Defensive Read: Your dribble is a reaction to the defender’s footwork. By holding the float, you force the defender to commit. Their movement dictates your next move—whether to accelerate into a drive or pull up for a jump shot.

Development is not about the complexity of the move, but the efficiency of the timing. We’re not looking to be flashy, we’re looking to be efficient and timely.

Focus on the connection between your handle and your eyes. When you can control the rhythm, you control the defender’s reactive capacity.
