I could say a thousand things about this wedding, but what stays with me most is the privilege of shaping a narrative entirely through my own eyes.
There’s something incredibly powerful about standing in front of a blank canvas and building a story frame by frame deciding what will be remembered, what will be felt, what will remain. It almost feels like a superpower.

I have SO many beautiful photos of Maria & Rogelio🧚🏻‍♀️, and choosing my favorites has been one of the hardest (but happiest) parts of working on this gallery.

Does this happen to other photographers? You’re editing, going through every photo, and suddenly you’re reliving the moment all over again… laughing, making faces, getting emotional. Because SAME. I lost count of how many times this happened while working on their photos.

This is easily one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever photographed. The beach, the two of them just being completely themselves, that wild, effortless, natural kind of love.

So grateful to Maria & Rogelio for taking me all the way to Mexico to document how incredible they are. 🤍

Also… I had NEVER used a groom’s back as a flat lay for the rings before and honestly? Rogelio’s back did an incredible job. 😂

Every wedding exists somewhere between what we create and what simply happens.

There are moments I direct, moments I anticipate, and others that disappear as quickly as they arrive. My job is to see them before they happen, to trust the possibility of a frame, to believe in the potential of a moment even when the creative process feels uncertain.

But no matter how much we plan, the most beautiful photographs are never about control.

They happen when love is allowed to exist without resistance. When nothing needs to be performed, corrected, or perfected.

Because love, in its most honest form, is effortless.

And perhaps that is what I am always looking for not to make love look effortless, but to create enough space for it to simply be.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. 🥲🤍

Photographing Angélica and Christopher’s wedding was truly a dream. Their gallery has over 2,000 photos between digital and film, and choosing favorites feels almost impossible. It was perfect in every way, the emotions, the tears, the love, their friends, their families. It was intimate, fun, and completely stress-free. You could just feel how much love surrounded them.

Knowing that both of them are film photographers definitely gave me a little extra pressure. I really wanted to surprise them, but they ended up surprising me even more with how much love this wedding held.

I’ll always remember Chris’s mom taking the time to thank me that morning for being there and for everything I had done during the days leading up to the wedding. Those little moments filled my heart.

Thank you, Chris and Angélica, for trusting me with something so important. And thank you to my incredible team, Gin, Alfredo, and Juyá.

@juyaphoto was my very first photography mentor almost ten years ago. I took my first photography workshop with him, so having him beside me all these years later, in a way “learning from me” when I was once the one learning from him, was such a magical full-circle moment.

I started photography wanting to do something meaningful with my life, never imagining that I would end up photographing some of the most meaningful moments in other people’s lives.

This wedding truly filled my soul.

A year ago today was Mary Kate and Jimmy’s wedding and what can I say? Their personality was everything in the photos. They’re truly one of the most authentic couples I’ve ever had the honor to photograph, and the energy of their guests was just as incredible. I even made friends along the way. ❣️🤞🏼🙂‍↕️
